PBC announces heavyweight extravaganza for January 1st

Mismatches are the overwhelming norm in boxing and this card is no exception. Ortiz-Martin will only be competitive if Ortiz has slipped badly due to age, which is possible. Sanchez-Negron is the biggest mismatch on the card but Vykhryst should destroy a washed up, 5 time stopped Kiladze and Demirezen should stop a nearly 40 year old, 4 time stopped, almost 2 year inactive Washington coming off a 6th round KO defeat to Martin. The only fight that is likely to be competitive of the five is Rice-Coffie 2.

 

Interesting card but not PPV worthy in the slightest.

 

Only mildly interesting fight is Ortiz/Martin and even that's probably a mismatch if Ortiz isn't shot.

Sanchez should have no problem with Negron who was KTFO by Brian Howard in 66 seconds and Howard himself was KTFO by Ajagba. This is literally an opponent 2-3 levels below the last guy Sanchez beat. Total mismatch.

 

This should not be a PPV.

Martin is a live underdog here and would be between him and Jennings as Ortiz best ever career wins. Bearing in mind Ortiz hasn't beaten anyone of note since Jennings in 2015 and has lost to a poor limited fighter twice in that period.

Sanchez who is clearly the most talented HW on the card is put against poor opponent dissapointingly.

 

The thread would have at least double the responses if Eddie Hearn was promoting this

$39.99 for that is utter garbage. We don't pay that for elite fights nevermind c tier. My American brothers and sisters get the shaft when it comes to boxing. $80 usually jesus wept. I would expect dinner and a happy ending for that.

 

I think we need to define the word "extravaganza" here.

 

It looks like an entertaining PPV card, and for me it's worth the money. The main event is an even matchup.

I would have sooner had Faust vs. Washington, but it is what it us.

 

This isn't ppv material at all. Its essentially a bunch of undercard fights, including the headliner which is a mismatch.

 

Thing is if people keep paying for this. The PBC will keep fleecing. In reality this card should be on normal fox or showtime and us as fans should expect that.
