Plant looked much more comfortable in there with canelo it has to be said wasn't afraid to let his hands go and was trying to work on the inside knowing he would have to eat some big shots. Smith is a very good fighter but could of used his advantages a lot more against Canelo should of sat behind his jab feint and try and open him up more at distance. On there last performances I would have to say plant looked sharper but Smith has got talent underperformed last time out. Think I'm going plant tho
Canelo wan`t landing much and was getting caught, the punches Canelo was landing were having no effect, he really had to load up to land the killer punch, Plant was boxing very well up to that point.
Smith literally cannot do 168 now, he under performs massively at that weight over the last few years, the Ryder fight in particular. He leaves way too much in the sauna and on the scales. He looked promising last time at 175, so I have pretty much the same thoughts as everyone else, Smith at 175, Plant at 168, but Smith much more emphatically at 175, if Smith can in a twilight zone reality can get down to 175 without fainting or loosing a limb now.
Although he's now a 175'er, I always thought Callum would beat up Plant. Callum is really Canelo's best win above 160, he completely took him apart. Took every advantage away and devastated him.
At 175lbs he is still bigger than the likes of Joe Smith etc. Callum Smith is still a weight bully. Just less so at at 175lbs.
