    Hagler's chin was concrete.

I think at 160 its Hagler and LaMotta, but guys like Toney, Eubank, McCallum, proved their chins at the higher weightclasses. So I think P4P I'd give it to Toney, the man moved up to Heavyweight and was still rock solid.

I don't know if Eubank has the best chin. Thompson couldn't get him, but Watson and Benn did hurt him badly. I know he won those fights, but still. As far as GGG goes, I think he might be with George Chuvalo (and Marvin Hagler, if you want to say that) as boxers who were never knocked down in their careers by the time he retires.

Hagler was wobbled in the opening seconds from a Hearns right. That punch would have knocked out a Steer.

I think they’re all very close but I’m going with James Toney

    Bernard Hopkins
Considering the competition he fought against, and considering that he was not knocked out until the last fight of his career.

If you look at the whole resume of these guys it’s pretty easy to say either Chris or Toney - maybe LaMotta depending on what you feel about the LHWs he fought.

I’d say Chris, he absolutely ate everything the “Big Cat” threw at him and he was as big as Liston and would’ve been a legitimate HW in another era.

Toney is always a head scratcher how much of it is his reflexes and defence and how much is contributed to his chin?
Surviving guys like Jirov, Samuel and Rahman is a durability feat superior to anything Hagler sniffed and he got walloped sufficiently IMO.

BUT do Toney and Eubank really count as MW? Eubank couldn’t be in the same room as fake fruit trying to make weight, Toney was a former football player. Neither guy was ever 160lbs. I’d say of the same day weigh in guys it’s most likely Jake followed by Hagler and Monzon - Hopkins was a LHW, MM was rocked by Toney and could be hurt - GGG isn’t 160lbs.

Honestly I always felt like the GGG-Canelo fights said more of Sauls chin than G’s.

Hagler. After Marv retired, he did something unbelievable with his somehow undamaged brain. Once unable to pronounce Antuofermo's name correctly, he moved to Italy, learned the language, became an Italian action film star, and wound up speaking English with an Italian accent! Like James Toney, MMH may well have had a heavyweight chin. Unbelievable neurological virtuosity for someone who withstood the shots he did. Outslugged Mugabe in the Beast's greatest performance. Crazy stuff.

Carlos Monzon was decked for a two count on July 30 1977 in his last title defense on July 30 1977 in Monte Carlo, Monaco, Monzon arose to win a unanimous 15 round decision then retired as champion after 14 title defenses, previously he was decked by Jorge Fernandez in Jan 1966 in a bout for the South American Middleweight title, Monzon won that title by unanimous decision over Fernandez.
