Pulev is a a tough old dude. He's 40 years old and his only losses are to W. Klitschko and Joshua. Joyce seems like a young up-and-comer but he's 36 and fighting at his best these days. I've got to think he has too much for Pulev. Joyce in eight rounds after Pulev puts up a good fight.
Joyce, at 36, fought once this year. That's not the way to build a name for a fighter casuals have never heard about.
I like this fight as a skills builder for Joyce. HE does need most of all a name building fight KO'ing a guy like Andy Ruiz or someone else with a name and a fan base. Only problem is all those guys are with either the PBC or matchroom.
I wonder how Joyce would approach a jabber like Pulev. Im thinking he would just try and walk through Pulev but who knows. It's an interesting fight i guess. Even at Pulevs age i really wouldn't be too suprised to see Joyce get outjabbed for the first time in his career but Joyce likely wins a decision or stops Pulev by round 8
If Takam was outboxing Joyce, Pulev could do the same and he has a chin. Not a "100% sure win" for Joyce.
Pulev would be Joyce's best opponent to date even at his advanced age, so it should be as another step up, though you'd have to favour Joyce with Pulev clearly being on the slide. I think Joyce would out work him and maybe stop him late. Pulev doesn't have the power to stop Joyce and out boxing him will be hard if he's just out worked every round.
No no no no. Simply no. Joyce needs to get a proper name under his belt. He needs to go for the winner of chisora Vs Parker.
