    one of my favourite quotes is not from a boxer, but a response from a boxer´s wife - does that count?

    chuck weppner to his wife before the ali fight:
    "tonight you´ re going to sleep with the heavyweight champion of the world!".

    his wife to chuck after the fight:
    "will he come to my room or do i go to his?".

    the bizarre effect was only completed by the priceless reaction and stutter from the interviewer, who looked too afraid (and puzzled) to dare to doubt the force-of-nature tyson:
    "your back is what ... ?" - "MY BACK IS BROKEN! - SPINAL !!!" - " ... ah ... " (thinking: if you say so, well ... then ... )
