If he can't beat a past his prime Tito then he would'nt be able to handle Cotto BUT if he looks good he MIGHT have a chance. Yeh you're right about them having different styles though.
I don't want to see ODH stay around too long like JCC. But yeh if Tito looks good he could possible have a huge fight with Cotto and hopefully they could meet at 154 because i've heard that Tito said he doesn't want to go below 160.
Shoot that will never happen I can't see Oscar trying to match JCC's fight total of over a 100 fights ..In order for a fight with Tito to happen Oscar might have to take a page out of Floyd's book and stay at a certain weight and le Tito come in at 160 ..And since there would be no belt so there will be no santioning bodies beefing the fighters about a particular weight ..
Nah i'm not talking about him fighting over 100 fights i'm talking about how JCC was still be stubborn by trying to fight the young up and comers while everyone knew he was pretty much shot for some years already.
I doubt OSCAR will do that as he is taking 1 fight a year unlike Chavez who just got in the ring with whom ever would fight him toward the end of his career .
Team Mayweather also claims that the main reason Oscar doesn't want a remacth is because Floyd wooped that ass ?? When ass whoopings come to mind I think of Hagler Hearns Manny Morales NOT Mayweaher Delahoya !
I think DLH is denying PBF a rematch for 3 reasons: 1. He knows it wouldn't be as big as their first fight in terms of $$$, due to PBF's boring style. 2. A last '**** you' to PBF by ensuring he cannot make megabucks off DLHs name a second time. 3. As a way of forcing PBF to fight SSM. As for who he should fight next, I think Tito - that would still attract big numbers due to the 'revenge' factor, and huge fanbase in the US and PR.
If he can force Mayweather to fight Mosley i'm all for it ..I think most people would rather see that fight instead ..Its still a win win for MW and he gets a nice check why not .
I can see him beating Cotto sometime next year, pissing off Tito, which would lead to a big money fight.
Oscar should ditch the quest for belts and only fight 10 round non-title fights. I'm sure they could spin it into some "belts are meaningless/we're saving boxing" BS. Either way, Oscar in a 12 round fight against an elite AND durable fighter? My bet is he fades down the stretch. That's where the safe money is.
