The decline in Davies is shocking. You can say what you want about him but he always looked to have a bit about him before he was stopped by Taylor. There’s no shake in losing to Taylor at all but I think he’s allowed that defeat to take his soul. He looks slow, ponderous, amateur. I’d assume he’s only fighting because he’s skint.
I thought he was capable of coming back stronger from that loss but he looks washed up at only 29. These long absences are killing a few careers - Josh Warrington another good example.
Wonder what would've happened to Davies if he hadn't took the Taylor fight..might have blagged his way to a title shot tbf.
Great fight between Waseem and Barrera. Couldn't score it because doing homework but I think Waseem might have nicked it. Clash of heads during round 2, and Barrera had several problems with the tape falling off from his gloves throughout the fight. Barrera hurt Waseem during round 10. I thought Waseem would be pulled out, but he fought back in the final two rounds. Waseem's corner managed his cut well. Scorecards: UD 115-113, 115-114, 117-111. All for Waseem. Final scorecard was way too wide. The other two I can't disagree with too much. In most of the rounds Barrera started off well but I preferred Waseem's heavy handed work over Barrera's flashy footwork.
I’m not a fan of Ohara but he really walked through everyone in the amateurs. Thought he’d do better in the pros. If they can make them then Ohara vs ritson or Robbie Davies jr would be fun fights
Davies stops Ritson I would say. If Davies boxes like he did against Joe Hughes, he beats Davies comfortably on points. However, if he fought like he did against Ritson, then I'd say Davies stops him too.
