Can Savannah Marshall beat some male belt holders, no matter the weight class?

Not if he’s even moderately decent. Look up Lucia Rijker (the GOAT women’s kickboxer), she never lost to women, almost always winning by KO. So she decided to start fighting men. She fought an 11-3 Thai journeyman who fought two divisions below her. She was KOd brutally in 2 rounds and never kickboxed again, she said it took years to recover from the damage he did to her in that round and a half. The dude never did anything after and it’s nearly impossible to find info about him that doesn’t relate to the fight. He certainly wasn’t ranked in the top 300.

 

No, a lot of male world champs can`t gert into punching positions that quick.

 

1. You can't compare some Thai dude who probably had like 300 amateur fights because it is common in the region to some Internet keyboard warrior who probably didn't even have 5 amateur bouts in boxing.

2. You brought up an example from the Mid 90s. We're living in 2021. Women's combat sports is on a much much higher level now.

Savannah Marshall would literally kill 99,9% of the forum members here in any boxing fight.

 

Women’s boxing is on a different level now, but Thai fighters almost never had amateur careers until recently. The guy was just a club fighter with too much power. If Olu boxed and is a somewhat sizable guy, him winning isn’t as unlikely as you might think. If he didn’t box or never left novice tournaments he should stfu though.

 

She is not capable of beating the son of Ricky Hitman Hatton.

 

Those guys would all **** her up. You think they walk around at 105? Also a 15 year old male is way stronger than 99.9% of women.

 

Actually the Thai fighter was picked because he actually didn't hit hard.
If you watch the fight the Thai is kind of going through the motions until Lucia starts teeing off on him in a corner and then the Thai guy lays her out.
Lucia was one of the greatest female fighters of all time - truly a dominant female boxer who really was head and shoulders above her peers.
And the Thai was brought in to make her look good.
When I was around 43/44 I boxed to stay in shape and sometimes would spar in a light manner.
So there was this female that weighted around the same as me. I think she was five pounds less then me.
So they asked me if I would move around with her and basically spar lightly with her. So I said ok.
First round she comes out winging crazy shots and trying to take my head off. Gave me a bloody nose.
Second round starts as first round. So I throw a shotgun jab and she basically gets staggered.
Like really bad. So I ease up.
3rd round she starts winging again so I hit her with a shotgun jab and she GOES DOWN.
Sparring session ends right there.
Women as a whole are not as strong as men. And its a big advantage to men.

 

I stopped sparring with women after I cut one’s eye open and she started crying, then I was chastised for going too hard despite going softer than usual. The spar lasted a total of two minutes and as soon as it was over, she started crying while pretending to be trying to hold it in/hide it. Thank God we currently have no women.

 

She would kill me in a boxing match but bareknuckle I could hurt her, a Somalian broke my jaw and I didn`t pass out.

 

So there's a 5'3 Chinese dude who holds the snatch world record for his weight category. He weighs 130lbs and snatches 145kg. There's a Chinese woman who can also snatch 145kg. She's the world record holder and weighs 330lbs.

I realise this is a bit of a tangent but to me that says a woman needs to weigh twice as much as a man to generate as much power. So if you can find a guy half the weight of Marshall then I guess she has a chance.

 

That same Chinese power lifte cannot punch with Savannah`s power, her body mechanics are good despite maybe lacking some strength.

 

I don't mind sparring with women but then most are trying to prove a point when all your trying to do is spar and get some work in.
I get tired of these discussions where everyone knows what happens when women try to go head to head with a man.
Another time my cousin who was a girl became a black belt. I was happy for her as she worked hard for it.
So everyone is at s family gathering and for some reason she kept pestering me to spar with her - body punches only.
So finally I agree. Some I'm just playing around and she is getting serious.
So at this time my mom comes over and is just watching out of amsument. Nothing serious.
My cousins father comes over and starts encouraging his daughter to basically knock me down with body shots. And now I'm getting pissed.
So my mother tells me hey that's your cousin don't you hurt her.So I refrain. I pull my shots. She's going crazy trying to nail me hard which she is but it isn't really hurting too much.
So my mom says hey why don't you two just stop sparring I don't want anyone to accidentally get hurt.
So my cousins father starts running at the mouth saying how she was crushing me and this and that and I can't handle her because she a black belt.
So my mom looks over - and I will never forget this for as long as I live - and tells my cousins father she wants us to stop sparring because she's afraid her son is going to let one go and hurt his daughter.
So of course my cousins father keeps running his mouth so my mom says son go ahead and put a couple on her ARM.
So I start throwing hard and hit her 3 times on her arm pretty hard. Third shot she turns her back so of course I stop. She's crying and my Uncles mouth is just open.
My mom who was the most non violent person in the world says to my uncle imagine if my son would have hit her in the ribs - so STOP hyping your daughter up before she gets into a bad situation.

 

I've sparred with women who took MMA and I've been submitted by them. And they are very talented.
But in a real fight if they attempted to go toe to toe with me they would have gotten hurt. And that's not a knock on them at all.

 

Now woman should ever box any man ever...period.

 

What about Tyson Fury and Savannah Marshall?
