Of course there is no precedent, since Louis fought bums and unskilled boxers (compared to modern ones)
If he has to, yes. But IMO Tommy will go right through Louis, like a hot knife through butter, he'll simply overpower him with ease
Wallcott might be more skilled defense wise, but I don't see anyone else. Marciano has more stamina, but that's about it. As for chin, I disagree. Tommy having a glass chin is an unsubstantiated myth. Whenever he was KOd, he was after being hit with many punches. Perhaps not for the guys from his era, but that wouldn't be the case for the guys in Louis's era. Tommy will just overpower Louis.
Yeah, from the likes of Michael Bent.... And Morrison had one of the worst defences I've ever seen. Louis destroys him.
Walcott does everything better than Morrison. It's not even close. Better footwork, counters, jab, timing, etc. Morrison only has a little more raw power in his hook, but Walcott's hook is no joke and Louis beat him twice. Louis also beat Galento who wasn't particularly great, but he had a devastating hook too. Louis got off the floor and destroyed him. It's very unlikely Morrison beats him with one clean hook. Louis never got taken out with one hit, you needed to batter him. Rocky was also better inside fighter, body puncher, and finisher with a far superior chin and power in both hands (Morrison neglected his right). Morrison has 2 brutal early KOs. You can't write off Louis who had good power himself with great hand speed and combinations. Unless you think Bennt and Mercer are much better overall than Louis (, they aren't), it's goofy to suggest Morrison should be favored. Morrison got tagged by Mercer and old Foreman who were fairly slow sluggers. And Bent whose a nobody. Got tagged by the sloppy poor stamina reckless Ruddock. We've been over this.. Complete nonsense since they're almost the same size and Louis is the better fighter with power in both hands. Plenty of people tried to overpower Louis. It's quite obvious you're obsessed with power and muscles and aren't thinking about the matchup. Morrison NEVER overpowered a guy remotely as skilled as Louis
So it sounds like we are agreed that Tommy's Plan A is to bomb Louis out. Louis would also want to trade. Given that scenario, why would this fight ever get to the stage where Louis's slow footwork against mobile opponents becomes an issue?
We can compare Louis's ten best wins to Morrison's if you want. Morrison would not even be the best man man that he had beaten.
Louis fought men who hit as hard as Morrison, men who were better technicians than Morrison, and men who were bigger than Morrison. Morrison was really nothing special.
