There are lots of guys who fit this mold. Loma has proven he will fight anyone and he has always tried to get the best opponents since turning pro. Even when he lost to Teo, he immediately got in the ring (after shoulder surgery) with the guy who gave Teo major problems, Nakatani and destroyed him. Usyk is another guy who will fight anyone. He took a couple fights to get used to HW when he stepped up and made it clear he wanted to fight for championship belts not pretend paper belts. Porter is a great example of a guy who would fight anyone, not cherry pick or target the weakest guy at a weight to get a belt. Teo Lopez took a chance and fought Loma and won belts. Even though he lost to Kambosos, he accomplished more at 24 than Tank has accomplished ar 27. Josh Taylor is another guy who isn’t afraid to fight top opponents and win legit belts against the best guys at his weight.

Tank is a marketing creation who is afraid to fight a legit opponent. I think this has stunted his development as a fighter. It’s masked because he can usually KO the little guys or inferior talents he selects. He’s not going to be able to do that against top guys. He’s wasting his prime building up a fake puffed up record. I have way more respect for guys like Kambosos and Lopez for at least wanting to fight the best. They will retire with losses on their record but their records will be legit, not artificially inflated like Tank’s. This is why I think it’s an insult to those types of fighters when people say Tank could beat them. If he could, why is he working so hard to avoid anyone with a pulse?

That's true man. Some fighters deserve flowers some don't. I'm glad you threw usyk in the mix. I always thought he was special man. It's either he raises his game to each giant or he is severely blessed deep in his Catholic faith. But... I can't leave this topic without asking what about Canelo lol?

Most guys either love Canelo or hate him. I’m neutral. I respect his talent in the ring but wish he would stick to a weight class and try to unify. I don’t like the jumping around nonsense. There is no denying his skill but I’m opposed to guys challenging higher weight guys and insisting on rehydration clauses. If a smaller guy is moving up, he shouldn’t insist on weight restrictions. Floyd did that which is why the Winky Wright fight never took place. Winky wouldn’t let Floyd drain him.

If Canelo fights LH and beats Beterbiev, it will be in the same league as Usyk beating AJ. Even if Canelo loses but makes it a great fight, I will be equally impressed. I just want to see Canelo stay at a weight and beat all top challengers to unify the belts. Not jump around and cherry pick guys he thinks he can beat. He’s talented enough to do it.

I see you're keeping it real man. Me I'm a nut hugger for Canelo so I would probably favor him versus King Kong though. Anyway hopefully WAR davis

Kambosos has the belts, all repect to him. With Loma apparently back at 100% he will be the top LW by the end of 2022.

    Kambosos-Lomachenko Down Under.

    Make it happen.

    Lomachenko.

He fought three active lightweight champions, two former lightweight champion and one official lightweight title challenger. The only one that not on that list is Nakatani. All of the opponent he faced were all Ring top ten at the time of their meeting.

And I bet Loma still seeking for rematch with Lopez despite of no title on stake.

Tank will never fight Loma because he never wants it.

I can see Haney beating GK quite comfortably. He seems to be vastly under rated on these boards, He is the one for me who will become the best of them all. Haney v Shakur down the line will be great too. He's still only 22 or 23 which is very young and his best years are ahead of him. This is Tanks prime right now and he is letting it pass him by. Im not sold on Davis yet he has decent power but not what I would call an accomplished fighter. He is there for the taking when he step up and maybe his team realise that and thats why they keep him protected.

This is an important point. Merit should decide who gets a shot, especially when we are talking about guys fighting for a legitimate Championship. Kambosos is THE Champion. If Haney, Davis, and Lomachenko win impressively this year, Lomachenko will have beaten the most proven lightweight of any of them in Commey and he will continue to rate higher than all of them, too. Lomachenko should be getting a crack at it.

In regard to Davis, he has to prove it. Even if he beats Cruz, he has the worst resume of any of the top lightweights. Lopez beat Commey and Lomachenko; Lomachenko has more ranked wins than anyone; Haney beat a good but faded Linares and Diaz is a three-class top-10 guy; and Garcia defeated Campbell, who showed that he's no slouch at the world level.

I think george neutralises him and stops him, George is unconventional at times but the dude can also box.

tbh i dont get why peeps are trying to shave haney or davis or who ever over loma. like its not even close. Props to teo for actually fighting loma, unlike the other young bums in the division who are all talk and no substance. He was pound for pound king up until he lost to teo, surely that counts for something. Plus teo fought the fight of his life against a one handed loma who only showed up from rounds 6-12, and still he won by just a whisker. Wtf has haney or davis done? not even the eye test can give the a better shot then loma.

I agree but how long do you think he can stay at 135?
