Now that Lopez has made some talks about moving up to 140lbs what are some ideal fights for him to make if he wants to bounce back and make some noise at the weight? I'd like to see him face the other dogs of 140 first before fighting the likes of Josh Taylor or Tank. He has Zepeda, Ramirez, Prograis, Easter, Barrios, Postol, Barboza, Ergashev, or Matias which I think are good fights he can make.
Barrios or Prograis, interesting to see how he does against Tank and Taylors recent opponents. To be fair he should probably have at least a couple tune ups, maybe both these guys, Barrios 1st, & Prograis 2nd. Then fight Taylor if he's still at 140.
Love to see him Vs TTT I would love to watch TTT destroy that boy inside and outside of the ring. It would be beautiful.
Teo’s stock is down but if he gets his head straight, Barrios doesn’t last two rounds with him. Top guys at 140 will give Teo problems because he will not have the size advantage he had at LW but he’s still a young talented fighter. He fought the wrong fight against GK but I suspect he will be back soon. Probably fight a low skill guy like Barrios to get his confidence back but he’s got a monster ego and I suspect we will see him against top three or four at 140 soon. If he was really drained at 135, he could carry more power at the higher weight. I think he beats everyone but top three or four at this stage and can work his way into a mandatory situation with Taylor if he plays his cards right. Two is down but far from out.
Let’s see him against the ultimate P4P level test Postol. If Postol is the same one from the Ramirez fight, he may well beat Lopez. Obviously getting the decision is a different story.
Honestly would love to see him fight Subriel Matias. A plodding, come forward puncher with no defense would really play into Lopez's hands. I think this would be a fun fight while it lasts.
He ain't beating nobody in the top 5, the top of the division is very top heavy. I'd maybe give him a chance against Zepeda. If he goes up he needs to fight someone like Mario Barrios. How he handles Barrios level will tell where he's at
He should've taken. The kamsos rematch. I think a focused tefimo knocks him out spark clean, but he seems to be going through alot of personal problems at the moment, so idk he should get those straitened out first.
I agree, I like Teo far more than most of this forum does and I firmly believe he’ll be a champion again one day
