When it comes to Spence Vs Crawford, I'm undecided. I really don't know who's number one at WW.

Over the past few days, I've watched pretty much all of Crawford and Spence's fights, and my conclusion is pretty much 50/50. Here's the thing, both are great but both are extremely flawed.

    Crawford

    Pros:

    • Great switch hitter; Outside of Ennis and Ward in the past), I can't name a boxer whose a better switch hitter than Crawford.
    • Great counter puncher (at least top 3, Canelo, Ennis, and Maybe Usky have an argument over him): Crawford is a great counter-puncher. Outside of Canelo and Maybe Jermall, I can't name a better counter puncher.
    • Top 3 finisher outside of Canelo and GGG: When Crawford has you hurt, you're pretty much finished.
    • Decent Jab: What can I say more.
    • Great at making adjustments. It takes a few rounds, but once Crawford has the adjustments down pact, you're ****ed. Expect to get countered the rest of the night.
    • Timing is exceptional: I can't say anything less.
    Cons:
    • Leaky defense: Crawford gets way too much. When he switches Southpaw, it is fairly easy to counter him (See Gamboa, Mean Machine, and Porter)
    • Doesn't seem to handle pressure very well: I had Porter up until the knockdown. Crawford and Porter showed me that Crawford isn't a great defensive fight, and if you pressure him, you can break him down and make it uncomfortable.
    • Has not faced a true puncher since Gamboa: His chin is questionable. Gamboa and Mean Machine showed us that his chin is not that strong. Since the Gamboa fight, he has not faced a puncher. I truly believe if he faces a puncher like Ennis, Ortiz Jr, or Spence, he could get hurt and finish pretty fast.
    • Competition: His resume is pretty lackluster for a P4P great. I honestly don't know how he would do against Spence, Ortiz Jr. Prime Kell Brook, Prime Keith Thurman, or even Ennis. I have yet to see Crawford is a 50/50 fight. Every fight he has been in, he has been the favorite.

    Spence

    Pros:

    • Best Jab At WW: Outside of Ortiz Jr, I honestly think Spence has the best Jab. He does a tremendous job setting up his shots with the jab.
    • Cutting off the ring: Outside of GGG, Spence does the best job of cutting off the ring.
    • Inside Fighting: Best inside fighter in the game. Spence does a tremendous job going to the job and making his opponent fight his fight.
    • Adjustments. As mentioned before, Spence does a tremendous job making fighters fight his fight (see Porter, Brook, and Garcia). To beat Spence you have to fight him, there's no way around it.
    Cons:
    • Can be outboxed: Someone with tremendous movement and size can outbox Apence. He is a straightforward fighter and is there to be hit.
    • Leaky Defense/Lacks head movement: A great counterpunch could counter Spence all night. This is why I favor Ennis t beat Spence.

As you can see, both Spence and Crawford are tremendous fighters but they are far from perfect. With the ascension of Ennis and Ortiz Jr, I am unsure if Spence and Crawford are truly the best in the division. Crawford/Ortiz Jr is a 50/50 fight, as Spence/Ennis is 50/50. I have yet to see Crawford in the ring with a puncher (Ortiz Jr is arguably the hardest puncher at WW), and I have yet to see Spence in the ring with a skilled boxer-puncher(Ennis is just as strong, more technical/skilled, hits just as hard, better foot.work/ movement, better defense, and better counterpunch).

Just thinking about it, I honestly don't know who will win in a potential matchup between Spence and Crawford. Spence has yet to fight someone with the counterpunching and movement of Crawford, yet Crawford has yet to fight a Puncher and pressure fighter like Spence who also has a decent jab.

And to be honest, I don't know if either one is the the best WW in the division. I believe Ortiz Jr and Ennis would be 50/50 against either one. Thoughts??

That's a clever Ennis appreciation thread but the kid hasn't done anything to be praised so highly. If I start seeing people placing him on p4p lists as soon as he beats a single champion like they did Spence I'm probably going to spam Ennis hate threads in spite.

One guy parties and drives 150 mph drunk vs a dude who lives the spartan life.
    Its a no brainer.

140 or 147 crawford stops taylor
Taylor needs to rematch prograis in the US. He beats prograis clear he earns the crawford fight. Neither taylor or prograis seperatrd in the first fight.

That's what makes it an exceptionally interesting fight - we don't know for sure who will win.

Too many mismatches in boxing during the past few years, especially on Top Rank cards, have hurt the sport.

I’d pick Crawford to win but with not with a lot of confidence. Spence could end up putting too much pressure on him to handle using his size advantage. Great fight. Has to happen in 2022.

Spence has the better 147 resume.

I favor him if they fought but not by any gulf. Essentially on paper its a pick 'em fight.
