Hunter v Rivas would be an exciting match-up. I might watch the highlights of this one on youtube. Might. EDIT: bah, who am I kidding, I'll probably watch this from start to finish given the chance, like the rest of you degenerate boxing fans
Joe Jones KO1 Junior Anthony Wright just now. I think just one more match and then we get into the heavyweight ten-rounder triple-header (Trey Derek Lippe vs. Ademola Michael Balogun, then Cassius Chaney vs. George Arias and finally Michael Hunter II vs. Gerard Forrest 2). They always end the boxing portion of TrillerVerz shows early because there's a rap battling event afterwards.
First upset of the night. Joe "Louis" Jones floored Junior Wright hard at the end of the first round and brutally KOed Wright just 12 seconds after the bell beginning the second. Wright twice challenged for Cruiserweight titles against Rakim Chackhkiev (IB) and Beibut Shumenov (WBA). Nice win for Jones. He looked very good. Only 26. 214 pounds. Now 13-4. I am enjoying this $2.99 PPV. Less than a cup of coffee most places.
Trey Lippe doesn't look like Tommy Morrison. He resembles a heavyweight version of that goofy-looking grandson of Ali. Cornrows and all.
Round 1 Balogun wins by KO1 Lippe got rocked early, but recovered well, keeps coming forward, then out of nowhere he drops Trey with a straight left. He's back up. Balogun goes for the kill, walks into a hook, gets rocked himself. Then he goes after him again, rocks him badly.... is shook up badly, he's out on his feet... Trey hangs over the ropes. Gets counted, but the ref stops it, a little too soon probably.
I think Chaney gets TKO'd after struggling for several rounds, walking into overhand after overhand, one will finally catch and hurt him, then Arias will go all out and finish him off.
Lippe destroyed in one. Floored twice. Couldn't respond to the referee's instructions. All he seems to have inherited was his dad's chin.
