I'm reading "Hunter looked so bad", "Hunter is awful", "Hunter isn't good", "Hunter doesn't belong to the elite"...BLAH BLAH BLAH. Shut up MFs. Give JERRY FORREST some PROPS for his performance and his performances in general. That man beat Jermaine Franklin and got robbed blind by Salita Promotions. That man beat Zhilei Zhang and got robbed blind by ReMatchroom Boxing. That man was in a super close fight with Hunter and got a draw which COULD HAVE been a W but also could have been a L with the KD. And even the Takam fight was close-ish. This guy could be 4-0 in his last 4 and fighting for some titles or getting some massive paydays but he got ****ed up by promoters and corrupt judges. JERRY FORREST deserves some massive props. He turned the corner and developed into a really good HW despite not being a big guy at 6'1'' and ~225-230 pounds. He improved so much over the last few years and people giving him zero credit. This is the JERRY FORREST APPRECIATION thread. And all things aside....Jerry is a cool guy and very humble... This content is protected WE WANT TO SEE A THIRD FIGHT BROTHER. I hope Forrest gets some big paydays in the future. He made it. He deserves it.
Nobody denied that. Hunter had a bad night. Is he a bad fighter? No. And he also faced a very good opponent.
I agree, but Forrest isnt a very good opponent. He was the type of guy you look bad against, if youre not fully prepared. Thats the scheme of things when you fully break it down.
How would you describe a fighter who is Top 20 of the world? A **** fighter? A mediocre fighter? A subpar fighter?
A possible contender. Someone who is top 20 in the world has alot of work to do. A very good fighter is someone with potential. Forrest doesnt have that.
Forrest is a tough southpaw journeyman who comes to win but let's not go overboard. He got comfortably outboxed by a faded Takam and was blasted all over the canvas for the first three rounds by kidney problems Zhang in his previous two fights. Hunter gassed after two rounds, drew with an 18/1 underdog and by common consensus should have lost the fight. It was an absolutely disastrous performance by Hunter, not exactly helping to revive what was already a failing career.
Yes Forrest did good, but he was outshined by how abysmal Hunter looked. Especially with his cult following who has somehow miraculously disappeared in one night. The "Hunter is the best heavyweight for some reason even though we have no proof" following
