Could Aaron Pryor have beaten Joe Gans and Benny Leonard?

Gans and Leonard are 2 VERY,VERY good fighters . Pryor could have the ingredients to get a win but I don't know.

 

I would probably back Pryor to beat both, it does help I have seen a lot more footage of Pryor over the years than the Gans and Leonard. But when you do see Fans and Leonard footage you can see than Gans is very modern for his era, and Leonard was a very smart fighter and to have a record like he does in a good era suggests how good he must have been as I don’t think the footage of him in his absolute prime exists.

Pryor is a bit of a divisive figure some people think he would be destroyed by the top fighters at the weight and some think he would destroy the same guys, I think Pryor would be competitive against all of the top fighters in his weight class.

To answer the question I think he could have beaten both and would probably back him, but they would be serious fights and wouldn’t be surprised if he lost to both in the mythical world where this happened.

At his best, I think he'd be capable of beating just about everyone at his optimum weight.

 

Aaron has a shot, but there is no guarantee, and if the rules were not modern they could pull this off.
