Just listened to Teddy Atlas podcast interview with Kambosos it was great. Kambosos is a legend he really earned it the hard way really likeable guy compared to the other younger guys at lightweight. I think that Loma is his biggest threat I actually favor him over Haney, Garcia and possibly even Tank.

George is very comfortable in the spotlight. Which is a good thing b/c that's where he is now. And you're right about him doing it the hard way. No big phat foxtel / Main Event deal for George to buy opponents for him. He had to fight eliminators to qualify for eliminators in other blokes' backyards to reach the top. His last three fights have been SDs. None of them were close.

Yep agreed none of them were close enough to be SD's I remember there was a point in the Selby fight I think in round 7 George nailed him with a right hand and hurt him and the time keeper rang the bell 1 minute early.

I had Selby 10/2 George, Mickey Bey 7/3 George & Teo 8/4 George. That's not being a biased Australian. Just how I saw it.

Just saw Browne weighed in at 112KG I think he was close to 120KG for the Gallen fight he does look in better shape. Maybe he only had a few prawns and oysters from the platter and avoided the fried stuff.

Yep he kicked Selby's ass I don't know how anybody thought that was close. I re watched the fight with Lopez I agree 8-4 for Kambosos.

I thought Bey-Blade probs gave him the most trouble.
A couple of those early rounds he won clear and seem to frustrate George. Though if that was a 12 rounder he may well have stopped him or put him down again.

I think Haney offers him a hard fight stylistically.
He is quick and defensive minded. Which may not suit George's reactive counter punching style.

But he has average power and a questionable chin. He knows it, George knows it and I think that gives the unflappable Hellenic warrior the mental edge.

I've followed his fights but haven't heard his interviews until now. He's very charismatic and he talks like an 'old fashioned' fighter. A bit of a throwback, very good value. I reckon he has the potential (personality wise) to become a big boxing star, internationally. He's a breath of fresh air in this era. Honestly though, it's gonna be hard against guys like Loma and Tank. He could get to Haney late maybe. Either way, he'll go down fighting for sure. Even if he loses against the very best from here, he could still make very big waves by being in entertaining scraps.

So who are we going to see on George's homecoming show next year do you reckon? George wants to fight in front of 80,000. Ambitious, but I think we've now learnt that nothing is impossible when it comes to George. Bankwest Stadium in Sydney is the likely venue. It holds 40,000 in concert mode. To fill it, they're going to need some drawcards. George's promotional status is interesting b/c he's with Lou DiBella who isn't actively promoting. Eddie Hearn, who's never been to Australia, would be front runner to promote George's next fight b/c he's done the last two including stepping in for the Teo Lopez fight when the other outfit bailed out. So if it's an Eddie Hearn / DAZN show, that presumably means Foxtel / Main Event won't be in the bus. That may take guys like Tim Tszyu & Justis Huni out of play in terms of appearing on the undercard. Possibly Jai Opetaia also. Eddie has recently signed a couple of Australian fighters in Demsey McKean & Brock Jarvis but they aren't drawcards. We can expect to see them though & hopefully matched competitively. If they want a Tszyu on the show to pull in fans they should use Nikita Tszyu, who hasn't signed with a promoter. Maybe Teremoana Jr instead of Justis Huni.

Here's some of what I'd like to see:

George Kambosos Jr 20-0 (10) v Devin Haney or Joseph Diaz - Undisputed Lightweight Championship of the World

Brock Jarvis 20-0 (18) v Paul Fleming, Liam Wilson, Bruno Tarimo or world ranked lightweight. No more random stiffs for Brock please.

Demsey McKean 20-0 (13) v Justis Huni, Lucas Browne (if he wins tonight) or Teremoana Jr (ditto re tonight).

Nikita Tszyu v Random tow-truck driver (Junior Tszyu 2 is yet to debut so let's keep it real).

We might also get to see some of the guys who have helped George out with sparring. Like Lenny Zappa.

**** Teofemale and all hail Emperor George. I'm so, so happy for him and all of you guys down under. I just wanted to get this out there as I didn't have a chance to earlier. I'm leaving the forum for good - thanks for all the likes, quotes and discussions, may GKJ's reign last longer than the pandemic. Look after yourselves and stay safe!
