    Great Matchup, if we are talking best of their career I will go with Earnie as Immortal as guys like Bonavena and Joe Bugner are now on Boxing 24 , neither one ever had a knockout over a current at the time top ten fighter!

    With Ringo only beating 4 (Chuvalo, Mildenberger, Martin, Middleton) And Bug less than that!
    Both Shavers and Bonavena contracted to fight 1976 when Ringo was shot, a TV match in Reno. Course even then Oscar was long in the tooth.
