Price is a talented prospect, moved to the Mcguigan gym, Shane spoke very highly if him yet not heard nothing for ages
Had a few fights in 2019 after the prograis loss, against stay busy fighters. His campaign at 140 just hasn't taken off. Was some talk of him fighting Selby and also burns iirc but nothing has materialised for him. We may never see him again imo unless I suppose he got plenty of notice for a well paid fight.
It’s a shame because he’s still only 32. He should be sort of in his prime. There’s absolutely no shame in losing to Prograis and looking at the rest of his career he hasn’t really had too many pay days. Surely he could still be a handful for some domestically or even over the past couple of years could’ve built up again to world level.
Darryl Williams just packed it in after losing a debatable decision to Zak Parker , not sure exactly why . Could of won that fight !
Johnny Coyle who won prizefighter beating Sam Eggington, Paddy Gallagher and Jason Cook on the same night in 2014..Not fought since 2018. Good fighter, just lacked power. I remember thinking when he won prizefighter he should have got a deal with a top promoter but he never got given a chance with one.
You can kind of understand it. If you are putting everything into it for no real financial reward, working full time around training. To then feel like you were robbed under such circumstances is hard to take. Many will just pack in and focus on their main career.
