Yes. He's pretty much the only Mayweather Promotions / TMT fighter who hasn't been chinned yet. All in good time.
Close because Davis didn't let his hands go. Cruz was a fairly crude and primitively skilled plodder. Not much jab and slow hands. He definitely overachieved in keeping the fight competitive, along with Davis not letting his hands go. On another note. Why does Floyd keep bringing up these smaller face first Latin guys to fight Davis, but he avoids offering Russell jr. the fight? I think we know the answer.
While the guy last night wasn't dwarfed in size by Davis? Russell jr. and Davis are around the same height. Russell could wear a few more pounds moving up. He gassed bad against Diaz.
Tank saying "hell no" to a rematch tells us something we already know (well everyone apart from the fangirls)... He and his team follow the boxing con artist rule : Minimal risk and cherrypicking for maximum reward. Manufactured to the core.
Why would he rematch Cruz? That’s crazy…people want him in big fights, yet begg for him to rematch Cruz..which is it?
Bigger fights? Like who? Tank fights nothing but easy cherry picks. Its obvious he dont want that smoke again.
He won by a point on two of the judge's cards, had just been given 12 rounds of hell by a boulder-headed oompa loompa with the reach of a baby kangaroo in a fight which many had him losing and one he categorically would've lost and likely via KO too had the ref not been in the bag and not allowed him to grab a hold of Cruz like a limpet eveytime he got into range and backed him to the ropes, and keep Cruz with his baby kangaroo reach at bay by illegally stiff-arming the hell out of him all night, and grabbing him in headlocks, pushing him down and to the canvas and through the ropes and even trying to judo trip him, basically break every rule in the book all night in order to avoid honest exchanges and prevent Cruz from getting in close and unloading his combinations, all of which was done in full view of the ref without a single point being deducted from him even though he should've incurred multiple point deductions. No wonder he wants no part of a rematch
Don't think he is scared nor lost the fight. I had him winning 7-5. That said, it is higher risk for lower reward. It makes sense to move on from a business POV. Davis looked average in there, even uncomfortable at times. Why would he give Cruz a rematch considering all that.
