Some people say Tommy had glass jaw but I dissagree. It was his stamina thats why he lost to Mercer and Lewis. With better gameplan he could have beaten Mercer and better preparation to atleast go to distance with Lewis.

    Journeyman Bentt destroyed him.

    Even Mercer and Lewis.

C/D level chin imo. Better than Joshua though.

Eh, slightly below average. Once gassed he had a lightweight chin.

Fighter with 5 KOs in 11 fights (all KOs against low-level opponents) completely demolished prime Morrison when Morrison was fresh, so no, I disagree

AJ would not be stopped in the first round by Bentt. I haven’t watched Morrison in a while but I recall him getting dropped/rocked in a lot more fights against weak competition.

Labels like "glass chin" have no universal definition. Tommy certainly didn't have a Pavel Sour chin: Foreman landed 225 punches according to Compubox and Tommy didn't just survive 12 rounds but won the fight. Among the top 10 HW's in his prime though, his chin was on the weaker side. He often came into fights with dreadful preparation (drugs, booze, women, inconsistent training) which contributed significantly to some of his worst performances.

Mercer helped wreck Morrison's punch resistance. Some guys when they get KOd brutally like that end up getting KOd much easier afterwards. His condition going into fights was very hit or miss due to lifestyle choices.

By elite heavyweight standards he had a poor chin. I don't really like the glass jaw label, most people's chins aren't really made to stand up to the kind of punches these guys take. The guy had lots of heart though.

Morrison didn't have a Matchroom rematch clause to get a Bentt rematch. No doubt he'd have won it if he had as Bentt just landed a lucky punch.

Exactly! Glass jaws exist in boxing, and yes, Tommy Morrison had one.

That said, it's iron compared to his son's mandible.

I think it was more than stamina that beat Morrison against Lewis….

He hardly ever engaged Foreman, on his bike throwing out jabs for the whole 12 rounds. This is not a criticism Tommy fought a sensible fight and deserved the victory but this contest has no bearing when evaluating his chin

Not too many HW's in the world could have taken 225 punches from Foreman over 12 and mounted enough offense themselves to win, whether on their bike or not.
