Tank won't go anywhere near the other 4-5 top guys at 135 because of Floyd. It'll be the same at 140. It's a joke that this guy pulls the stunts he does and gets away with it. I have to aim at Tank too, because he's just as dumb for allowing it to happen instead of chasing greatness. Hats off to GK in that regard, the man doesn't care about his zero or the money. And Ellerbe just needs to go. There isn't a single guy in the last 25 years of the sport who brought nothing to the game and got paid the most. Absolutely useless he is. Tank is the new Wilder.
I think Kambosos is a promotional free agent managed by Lou Di Bella so there is every chance he fights Tank next or Haney.
I think "every chance" is a stretch too far. Lomachenko will enter the drawing if he overcomes Commey.
I think Floyd is nothing but a nice guy, giving away turkeys (freal) and making millions for his friend tank Davis. He is loyal to a tee for gervontae and took him under his wing like a good big brother should. This is the third city that gervontae sold out. Him and Mayweather had different paths. Floyd had to come up tough fighting hard competition at a young age to test his metal. I mean the blueprint is right there for tank: fight PBC Latin fighters, fight fighters not in his talent pool, low risk high reward, he uses tank as his muse. He is all about making him billions . When the time comes to step up it will be a tremendous payday and Garcia seems to be the frontrunner in everyone's conversation. Oh yeah one more thing, that tank Davis o, is not gonna go just like Mayweather did. If it does I would be surprised. But anything is possible down the road for tank.
Why "the other"? If you're terrified of fighting top 5 opposition, you ain't top 5 yourself. I'm sure you're not trying to, but subconsciously it's really easy to buy into a hype narrative without even realizing it...
Doesn't matter a jot unless Tank actually wants it... And if his record is anything to go by, he almost certainly doesn't (or isn't allowed to, the outcome is the same either way).
I hear you, but he's a big name and he's obviously up there to a degree. But he just needs to face the more known guys.
Big name, sure, undoubtedly... But there's big names as a result of achievements and big names as a result of hype. Tank has some okay wins on his record, but he's certainly hyped quite a lot as well. I don't see any real reason to put him in that conversation yet - admittedly part of me doesn't like to legitimize fighters who duck and pad their records, but that's also justified in the sense that statistically the higher up the pyramid you go the fewer can make it, and until they're proven there's still a good chance they don't.
He's not undeserving of a shot per se, if nothing else the money makes him tempting for them. What I would say, rather, is he's undeserving of any assumption that he beats any of them, because he's done so much less - and to be one of them, you've gotta at least have good reason to think he's competitive within that group. Being PPV doesn't necessarily mean you're top tier, it can do, but it can also just mean you're entertaining - a high KO% can do that even if a fighter is really quite limited and has an awful resume (see: Wilder) or has a bunch of losses on their resume already but is always game for a good scrap.
