DAZN have 400,000 subscribers in the UK...

HAHAHAHA, maybe in their wildest dreams.

400,000 subscribers is just over £3 million a month, they should be putting on cards every week if they had that much money.

I would say DAZN have around 75,000 - 100,000 subscribers. That is why they are desperately trying to sign Joshua.

That’s not necessarily viewers for every show I might add. But there was a limited drop off on the price increase.

the figure ofcourse fluctuates but the amount of people going out of their way to actually cancel is limited.

I'm well aware of that. That was why it was an ingenious move by DAZN to introduce the service at 1.99 per. month.

Where do you get your info. from mate if nothing published?

Very surprised with the figure you mention and actually very impressed should it be correct.

Do you have anything to substantiate the wildly optimistic 400k 'active' subscribers figure?

    Any actual evidence?

If the answer to that is a big fat NO like we all suspect it is, then it really doesn't matter what number you write, as it's just a figure you and you alone are giving. You could have written they have 40,000 subscribers or 4,000,000, it would be equally meaningless unless there's something actually behind your claims.

You can write whatever number you like and people are free to chose weather to believe you or not...

It' will be nowhere near 400k, I would be surprised if it was a third of that.

I do agree with you that in other countries where they have other sports and where boxing plays little, or in fact no meaningful role in their operations the picture will be very different as they are a global platform. But my interest lies in the UK, and with boxing so I am judging them on what we have seen from them here not what football coverage they have in Germany for e.g. which has no real or direct bearing on how many subscribers they have in the UK or what happens with Matchrooms shows.

I'm a bit late to the party here but is Probellum basically MTK in disguise?

Yes it’s just something I have been told from someone that I trust. Not saying for you to take it as gospel. Entirely up to you whether you choose to listen. The viewers per show are 150k-280k but subscribers that never cancelled are much higher

Thought so, fair enough I guess.

For what it's worth I don't believe the 400k subscribers figure and I think to be honest no one does. I do appreciate the number goes up and down a lot because cancelling and then re-joining is easy and quick so there may be a lot of people who dip in and out and are therefore not active subscribers perhaps.

Even if it's 150k-180k baseline and then people join for a show and cancel, then maybe re join a few months later that's an achievement for what the service has been in the UK so far.

I don't have any problem with paying 8 per month for boxing at all, I would actually be inclined to pay more than that depending on what's on offer. The issue is not with the price for me, it's with the quality, and surprisingly even quantity of UK cards. So far, on the whole it has just not been good enough. Maybe a good portion of that is down to Eddie initially over promising.

Ultimately I have nothing to gain by bashing them, I just want to see them put on better domestic fights, and more of them if/when they do they will get all the credit they deserve for it (from me at least).

I would give them £12 per month no problem for weekly UK cards such as Leeds.

The quantity and quality of UK cards has been very disappointing.

'Wait to you see our card in December - it is a xmas cracker' - quote from Scammer Earn.

More like the main course is a full xmas pudding

I agree Jurgen. Matchroom's UK events have generally been disappointing - especially in light of how Eddie Hearn said the deal with DAZN would give Matchroom completely different financial opportunities. I was expecting a huge quality boost, but this has not happened.
