Who do you think wins this one?

I’m not entirely sure Povetkin could avoid Deontays windmill for 12 rounds, but I could totally see Povetkin knocking Deontay into next week even worse than he did to David Price. Povetkins style is tailor made to give taller guys trouble, he was battering Anthony Joshua for the first few rounds before Joshua clipped him.

Either way I think Deontay would avoid Povetkin like the Plague.

    Thoughts?

Peak Wilder was crushing cans. Povetkin was never a can, as Whyte found out.

Wilder would clip Sasha with a big right hand and drop him. Excited and overzealous Wilder comes windmilling in and hit with a brutal counter from Povetkin. Bambi's gets his lights turned out. KO3

We review the scorecards and PBC had Wilder up by 5 rounds at the time of the stoppage.

Pov 2018 was already past his best but i'd still fancy him to get a KO win

I'd pick Up Povetkin to win by stoppage in the mid rounds. However, if the Wilder from Fury 3 fight turned up I'd have to give it to Wilder, as I feel that's the best Wilder we've seen.

This fight would be similar to the second Ortiz bout. Wilder by KO.

Would favor Wilder but Povetkin would be a real live underdog.

Why are you picking a past prime Sasha?

It's like your having to handicap one fighter because the other one is garbage.

I'm therefore using a prime Sasha against a prime Wilder.

Wilder could potentially drop Povetkin and get a bit excited and timed with a crisp counter ending up in the realm Whyte went to...........

    The Shadowrealm.

Sashas far too skilled for the big dosser.

He did, so you'd be entirely justified in this belief.

If Wilder lands something big there's a decent chance Pov gets starched out - I'm of the opinion that Wilder's power is somewhat overhyped but there's no doubt he's still a hard puncher.

Povetkin is levels better than Ortiz though and would've put Wilder firmly on the back foot where he really struggles - I reckon Pov wins this 6 or 7 out of 10.

Probably because prime-vs-prime is too obvious?

Wilder has a killer right. If he lands it, it would be game over for Povetkin. If not, then Povetkin KOes Wilder.

    I'll take Povetkin over Wilder.

Povetkin is far more skilled, he likes to fight up close where Wilder's long levers are not as effective and he is good at closing off on opponents. Sasha is good at slipping punches and especially telegraphed shots like Wilder's. Wilder could have fought Povetkin but instead left a trail of feces all the way back to Alabama. Enough said.

Wilder by KO. '18 Povetkin would still be tough , but i dont think he would have been able to take Wilders best punch.
