Before I start this, I should mention that I like Donaire, and view him as a HOFer easily.

It's kind of interesting how overrated he has been compared to Ioka (and that's not to say Donaire is overrated, just relative to Ioka)

Ioka has won 18 title fights and became champion in four divisions plus unified at 105 while taking two split decision losses, and most people agree he should have won at least one of those. Ie he has gone 18-2 with only split decision losses in title fights, and has a resume that would make most multi division champions (like Tanaka, who he beat) feel ashamed.

Donaire on the other hand has had 17 wins in title fights with 4 losses, also having two losses outside of title fights. He has only been KOd once officially, but should have been stopped against Inoue, when the ref counted to 10, but let him continue. He, like Ioka, is a four division champion, and has been unified at 118 and 122. That's 17-4 in title fights with 2 losses outside of title fights.

Am I nuts, or should Ioka rank much better all time than Donaire pound for pound? I get that due to Pac-man Donaire became unusually popular for a fighter of his size, and that his wins at his age are extremely impressive. But I don't think Donaire's overall career has been as good as Ioka's, except in terms of money made.

Is it possible for Ioka to step up and challenge Inoue? That would be quite a spectacle!

Two of my very favorite fighters...

Ioka has been underrated forever. Would be interesting to debate this out. But in this moment I agree that Ioka both has had the better career and is the better fighter.

Nah...not for me..ioka is a good fighter but he doesn't have anything like nonitos resume....and a few of donaires losses were at feather about 5 years ago..he's dropped back down two divisions and he's older which tells you how out of his weight class he was.

Iokas had a good career but nonito was/is greater

    You wish.

Donaire fought better and stronger opps than Ioka. You can make 40 title defense but if it's against weak opps it don't mean nuttin. You fight the who's who in boxing around your weight division and above and challenge the best stars.Give them a good fight.
