Fair enough, but McCallum stated that Jackson had the quickest hands that he ever faced.

I accept the KO`ing light heavy part, but Jackson faded badly during his time at 160 after a blistering run after moving up and had trouble with his eyes too.

Robinson stopped loads of class middles ,how many did Jackson stop?
    One, Graham.
Jackson ever one punch ko a big ,strong, durable ,class middleweight like Fullmer?
Paul Pender in a taped interview said Robinson was the greatest puncher that ever lived.
That has as much gravitas as McCallum's quote ,for which I see no provenance is provided.

I think we can see on film how stupid fast Jones was at 175. Personally i believe Jones went thru the motions against Mike.

The punch that knocked Fullmer out was as hard as any shot Jackson threw but Jackson threw shots like that all the time, not all Robi`s punches were fight ending, it isn`t always wise to power into every shot, Robi scored far more points than Jackson could in fights but really went for it when he wanted to end a fight.

My point being, Jackson never ko'd a big durable class 160pounder like Fullmer with one shot, and Robinson did , in fact Jackson only ever ko'd, as in for the count of ten 3 middleweights .In fact checking and amending my previous post ,Graham is the only class middle Jackson ko'd

Foster ko'd quite a few class light heavies. Jackson only one class middle weight ,and one class light middle. Bowling over cannon fodder takes us into Lamar Clark territory.

I can see Lamotta weathering the storm against Jackson's power
by his relentless aggression , closing the distance, and not allowing
Jackson to get full leverage on his power shots.
Noted punchers like Zivic (multiple fights ) Bell (Multiple fights)
Sattierfield , Cerdan, Marshall and of course Robinson ( multiple fights)amounted to
    only 1 loss by stoppage.
Jackson would have to catch Lamotta early to get the stoppage.
But I see Lamotta, rocked early and often by Jackson, slowly but
surely closing the distance, keeping Jackson's back on the ropes or
corner . Grinding him down, stopping Jackson late between the 9th
    and 14th rd .

Satterfield beat heavyweights. Julian Jackson was a fantastic pound for pound puncher at 154, one of the best ever. But he didn't have the power to starch lightheavyweights. Satterfield is generally regarded as one of the big hitters at 175. Do you think Jackson hit harder than Michael Spinks? Me neither, and he don't hit harder than Satterfield either.

    Dude, I LOVE your threads!!!!!

    I think LaMotta rapes him.

Guys like Jackson were a dime a dozen in Jake's era. I don't think LaMotta was especially good. A lot of his legacy is based on his relationship with Robinson. But he made his name beating guys like Jackson: limited sluggers.
And no, I don't think the PEDs help Jackson.

The overrating of big punchers is continued here, even at lower weights...

There is no way that Jackson would stop LaMotta fast. I think Jake woulr ruin him in later rounds. His defense is underrated on this board
