Melon Head Miguel's chin was shaky at 140. He was dropped and badly hurt literally three or four hundred times against Ricardo Torres

Notice how Torres hurt him numerous times as he was coming in and had him backed on the ropes

But JT won't be able to exploit that?

And Melon Head Miguel is susceptible to an uppercut with the way he leans forward

Actually I think Cotto takes this one. Pretty strong guy and Taylor loves to get into dust ups too much.

You read this thread and you think we are talking about roberto durán. And not about a guy whose best victory is a majority decision AT HOME vs "I-ve-fought-nobody" prograis.

You will enjoy a lot when he goes up to welter, where there are actual fighters, not like in this trash division that is nowadays 140. "Me? I never said postol taylor, was a p4p guy? me? no no, not possible"

A guy like crawford would put taylor into a coma.

At 140lbs I'm going with Taylor at 147lbs I'd back Cotto.

Cotto went life and death with feather fisted Malignaggi.

How is he going to beat Josh any way he wishes?

I always think Taylor is younger but he's 30 and right in his prime.
I think the lack of hype behind him until recently has fed the perception that he's younger and some even think he's unproven.
The 140 he unified is stronger than the 140 Crawford unified (although Crawford toyed with Postol and Taylor struggled against an older version).
For me, Taylor v Cotto comes down to Taylors Southpaw jab vs Cotto's orthodox left hooks.
A southpaw's liver is closer to the orthodox lead hand than it is in orthodox vs orthodox fights.
If Cotto can land his left hook (body or head) regularly it will mean his timing overcomes Taylor's speed. If Miguel takes away Josh's jab he can control the fight.
Taylors jab is excellent though. Fast and hard it sets up a lot of his other punches plus he can control tempo, range, the direction they circle etc.
A lot think Taylor shouldn't get into exchanges and use his length but he is a pretty attacking fighter and I think he's got some pretty serious dog in him. Both Prograis and Ramierz fans wanted the type of fight they got and JT still came out on top. He beat both of those guys at their strengths.
    140lb Taylor
    147lb Cotto

Cotto stops him. Cotto could take a punch and damage. If he could take prime Mosely and Margarito I don't see how Taylor beats him.

Cotto was my boricua in the day.

Don't know who takes it.. great fight.

He had some hairy moments at 140 but I think more towards the end when making weight was difficult.

Was hardly life and death, 116-111, Paulie shoeshined and he was decent in his prime, that was literally his prime.

Taylor is at the level of Prograis, just slightly above, hence the majority decision. You really think Prograis stands a chance with Cotto? lol. Completely different leagues.

Cotto gave a prime Pac a tough fight, the guy would have fked up Prograis. He also gave Floyd one of his best fights, again Prograis would get washed by Floyd. Prograis would get stopped by both Martinez and Canelo, Cotto damm near beat Canelo.

    Different levels.
