That's one of the best fights in boxing. Canelo steps forward with power and so does Beterbiev. Both also can punish the body. I wanna see Canelo in a dog fight and this might be it. If he's looking for the best challenge, this is it. Beterbiev has not been as active as Canelo and they should work on getting that Bivol fight next. Beterbiev needs consistent fights but he looked pretty sharp tonight later on in the fight.

Canelo beats him much easier than what people think. Beterbiev is warrior and has powerful punches but these aren't enough for extremely skilled fighter like Canelo.

Canelo has a history of staying away from better beef.

I'm not sure I'll need to check the stats....

    Yeah stats checked....VERIFIED.

Theres more deluded nut huggers and clowns in this thread than any other in the last year.

Canelo won't fight Beterbiev for at least 18 months.

He didn't want any of GGG until he visibly slowed down and even the he lost and had to cook the judges decision.

All you've done is confirm that most of you don't understand either reality or more importantly boxing.

Man these threads make me laugh.. Acting as if Clenelos fights at 168 and 175 are real fights. Smith, Yildrim, Plant, Kovalev fights were all fixed. We haven't seen this manufactured con artist fight a legit fight at 168 let alone 175.

The only way Canelo wins against Beterbiev if it is an outright fix/sparring session.

Not only is Beterbiev far more stronger than Canelo but is far more skilled too. His amateur career and what he does in the ring reflects that.

Canelo unifies the division below in less than a year and still gets called out for ducking two fighters in the division above that have no interest in facing each other

Canelo unified because the PROMOTERS had the WILL to do it and because the opponents were getting millions. I dont see anyone queueing up to face Beterbiev for a mere $150k

Canelo's fanbase means he doesnt even need a promoter really.
Eddie Hearn struck gold. He got paid 20% for being a cheerleader for a superstar.

I give the edge to Canelo just on pure boxing skills and avoiding getting cut off by the big Russian.

If Canelo goes to the ropes he would be in trouble but he’s smarter than that IMO

It is a good fight, but I don't think you would see Canelo using the same gameplan that he did against Smith/Saunders and Plant. He ain't walking down Artur - at least not this side of 40, and while Canelos has that neck and granite chin and great defense, i'm not sure his body will be able to take what the Biev dishes out.

Just look at how Canelo was doing against a shot,vodka-addled,short-camped Kovalev, eating pitty path jabs all night, and regardless of the scorecards, he was losing that fight before the KO.

Right now I still take AB with late body stoppage - liver shot or broken ribs.

18 months or later tho then it could well be different, Alvarez has previous on the aging game.

Anyways, like others have said I really would like to see Bivol v Beterbiev before Canelo and either - THAT's THE fight @175

In another 2 years at a catchweight of 172.5 Canelo might beat old drained Beterbiev.

Beterbiev turned pro at 28 though kirk. He won his first world title at 32, and just became relevant after beating the nail a little over 2years ago. Canelo was still a Mw at that time fluctuating between weights here and there. Beterbiev was never on his radar. Canelo will probably fight him around september for sure, while Beterbiev is still dangerous enough that if Canelo beat him he'll get credit for the win.

I believe the Makabu Fight is team Canelo’s litmus test.
How he responds to getting hit in that fight will be his litmus test to determine their trajectory.

I fully expect him to stall & rehydration clause.
You know A-$ide his way through the rest of his career “Money-esque “ , “Golden Boyesque, “Sugar Ray Esque” etc….

I don’t see how Smith Yildrim and Plant were fixed. They weren’t very good but doesn’t mean they were fixed

Not happening, not before 2023 or Beterbiev starts showing age.

Before anyone gets triggerred, I would love to be proven wrong and will be very happy to eat crow if it does happen.
