Not even close. His wins over Kovalev, Froch, Abraham, Dawson and Kessler, are far more impressive than anything on Crawford's resume. Porter is probably the only fighter close to their level. Brook and Khan were both shot the bits, but even in their prime not as impressive.
No Crawfords resume is very weak, Ward has consistently faced better competition who were in their actual prime
Crawford is one of my favorite fighters but as of right now Ward takes it. Let’s revisit this once Bud retires.
Ward definitely. Ward nullifies guys that may edge him on the outside. And Ward showed that he was a superior mauler on the inside even against guys that "appeared" to be physically stronger than him. In this case, I don't think Crawford has proven that he is better on the outside against his contemporaries than Ward was, and he definitely ain't better on the inside. On top of that Ward's lead is better than Crawford's lead, his feet are better and his defense is better. And he has the same type of dog in him that Crawford has.
A win over Kovalev trumps everything on Crawford's record by miles. Crawford's best win is Shawn Porter. Even Crawford's second best win (Postol) is a homeless man's version of Ward's second best win (Kessler).
Crawford is better in every aspect of the sport except head butting and wrestling. If we are talking boxing, a 168lb Crawford destroys Ward. It’s not even close. Crawford is a highly skilled fighter. Ward is a crafty guy who has no power but stayed in fights with his cheating tactics…I mean “veteran” tactics and careful matchmaking. Overrated fighter unless you listen to him describe himself. He’s his own biggest fan.
