It's possible that Buncey is exaggerating a bit, BUT he has the X Factor. As a viewer, I can feel that he really loves boxing and is passionate about conveying his passion to the viewers. He has everything I miss when I watch boxing on DAZN. DAZN´s Boxingteam is boring.

 

It winds me up that people are celebrating mediocrity. Chisora is one mediocre boxer prancing around from one big bag of money to another yet promoters, TV analysts, commentators and some fans are completely oblivious to this.

Chisora should be banished from headlining cards. He should 1st or 2nd on the card on the Facebook stream, that's it.

He's not popular. He doesn't have a fan base. It's all manufactured rubbish to make us believe he's got some massive UK following and that he's giving the fans what they want.

For about 80% of his career, he was just a general annoyance in and around the boxing scene.

He was and still is a street thug who knew how to box up a pair of gloves and throw a few punches. That's it.

He's spat in people's faces, beaten up his own missus and been involved in many a fracas at weigh ins and press conferences. So he's never been UK's darling and he's never had a fanbase as such. Just people who end up watching the crazy sht he does and then him thinking that he's got fans now.

 

It’s the self-entitled stuff that gets me. Refusing to walk first against Parker, demanding he was the main event over Taylor and Prograis... absolute wnker of the highest order.

 

I keep watching the end of the Cullen fight, it's hilarious, the booing, the commentary, the press ups, I couldn't have written it any better. I hope Cullen got paid enough to get his North Face tattoo covered up.

Chisora is getting closer to having the same number of defeats as Taylor has had fights. Taylor is a unified World Champion, it's ridiculous, all of it. It drives me absolutely up the wall how little coverage Taylor gets for what he's done, he's been in some brilliant fights, he's taken on the best and done everything asked of him and more. In Taylor's last 5 fights he's taken 5 0's, he's beaten World Champions, he's boxing beautifully, he's repeatedly looking for the biggest fights. Then there's this plodding half man half pig thing, his whole career seemingly hanging on an overhand right connecting, allegedly a fans favourite, now on a three fight losing streak and he's telling us he's not retired.

 

I think when the crowd chanted his name in the Takam fight was what gave the likes of SKY, Bunce, Hearn etc. this opportunity to re-invent him as a folk hero. Haye saw his chance too and latched on to build a fiction that Chisora was even getting better as a fighter.

The crowd had actually paid to see Whyte and Parker, and the chant probably started as a joke and because it looked like the underdog might pull out a win, everyone likes an upset on an undercard. But hey, let's use that to re-write history and pretend Chisora was a beloved fan favourite all along.

 

Tbf chisora has become a fans favourite over time. The british public are happy at guys that give it their best...something chisoras done over the last four or five years. Plus we love an underdog. Chisora will never be joshua for example but he has turned it around tbf with getting the platform and giving it his all plus for my money chisora is actually a decent fighter. Just not good enough to beat the top level. You dont have to look good to be a good fighter. Many many guys down the years didnt look great but we,re effective at what they do. Look at froch for example. He did beat the topish level...but he couldnt be described as a great boxer. Same could be said for hatton. Both better than chisora but good examples of sometimes you dont have to be a top boxer to be a good fighter. Chisors certainly caused problems for some very good fighters.

Didn't Adam Smith do a "ohhh..... Deeellllll boooooooooyyyyy" thing, a bit like "lift off for AJ" after he won the fight, as if he was commentating on his little grandson or something?

Just gone on YouTube out of curiosity and the commentary was ‘this is Chisora’s night, the greatest night of his career, unbelievable, the smile from Delboy is astonishing’ then something about it being one of the great heavyweight fights.

The fact Takam had fought AJ a few months prior meant it was easy to build a narrative around it. The casuals won’t have even known that Takam stepped in to fight AJ on a weeks notice and was in fact very average, they’ll have seen it as Chisora actually did a better job than AJ and was suddenly reborn. In comes Haye (who was a master salesman) to assist, a rebranding from Delboy to ‘War’ and off the story went.

 

You know what boxing fans can be like especially when they watch 2 heavyweights collide, if you win but don't knock the mother ****er out then you're the shittest thing in existence.
