The heavyweight division is becoming a joke. Joshua in constant rematches, Fury and Whyte in constant legal battles and arbitrations. No wonder people are falling out with boxing.

I expect another Pianetta, Wallin and schwarz type of opponent.

Just Frank Warren's words at this point.

I agree that this plan sounds ridiculous. The WBC would probably agree to something that pays them healthy sanctioning fees.

Fury surely knows deep down that staying on the right side of the WBC is in his own interests.

I really hope this is a threat from Fury's side rather than their actual intention.

Hopefully this threat makes Whyte realise that losing the mandatory position sets his career back once again.

All in all though, boxing is finding another way to **** around with fans. Amazing to think we had Fury-Wilder and Joshua-Usyk within a couple of weekends. Our reward is months and months of this political bull**** played out via the media.

Whyte will not be losing the mandatory it’s just fury wanting a tick over and both side pressuring the wbc to grant their wish with share split

For once Mitch I agree with you. People want to see the best fight the best. Anything other than Joyce or even Ruiz I’m not interested. Kabayel etc just won’t cut it.

    Ruiz Jr (providing he trains)
Luis Ortiz (providing he beats Martin)
    Joe Joyce (proving he recovers)
Joseph Parker (providing he has the balls to fight Fury)

Any of those four would be good fights.

Totally agree. Fury Whyte is a cracking domestic dust up. Will be a real kick in the teeth for the fans if it doesn’t happen. An opportunity to see the top domestic lads fight each other shouldn’t go to waste.

No, if he were to lose as WBC champion in a non-sanctioned fight, the WBC could declare the title vacant.

I wonder if at the end of it all, Fury eventually retires with only a single title defense, and then only because he had to.

Not when there's an interim beltholder. See the Golovkin/Canelo situation for what happens.

Saddest thing is that if Fury gets ‘Promoted’ to franchise champion, undisputed gets f****d as it’s not recognised as the fourth belt. Don’t get me wrong, I’d take an Usyk v Fury fight all day long with no titles but it’s killing the sport.
