PARKER vs USYK - Who Troubles Who Now??

The Parker we saw last week is the best Parker I have seen in the last 5 years.

Andy Lee says he is only 50% of the way into his improvement

Does this new version of Parker trouble Usyk - or is the gulf still too great?

(Bear in mind this fight is likely to happen - perhaps in 2023)

 

Usyk is a dimension above Park at this point.
He has no chance against Usyk

What would be your breakdown of this fight ?

 

Usyk is too good for Parker.

 

Parker is too small for Usyk

 

Parker couldn't put away the most shopworn version of Chisora we've ever seen, gassed after 4 rounds, had to fight in bursts for the remainder and got hit almost as much as he hit the plodding warhorse. He was more assertive than usual but aside from that it was the same Parker. Usyk would 12-0 him, no exaggeration.

 

Parker gassed after 5 against chisora, usyk will go through the gears and win a comfortable decision.

 

Too easy for Usyk to outpoint Parker. I could see it looking like Usyk vs Chisora where a safety-first Usyk drops several rounds but is always in control.

 

Any version of Parker loses to any version of Usyk. The gulf in skill and overall ring iq is way too great.

 

Usyk absolutely schools him

 

Something to consider-

Usyk will be 36 and Parker just 31

if they fight in 2023

 

Let them fight in 2030 if you want?
Usyk fight Aj, Fury/Whyte and retire.

I agree Usyk is dimensions above Parker at this point and I can't see any outcome but a clear wide UD for Usyk.

Parker is at his most effective when he's allowed to get off first, so Usyk being a boxer mover will allow him to do what he's best at. But Usyk will use Parker's aggression against him and counter him as he comes in. Usyk also has the reach advantage and with his movement I see him reducing Parker to throwing single shots as Parker won't be allowed to set his feet, with all the movement, to unload in combination.

As the fight goes on and Parker eats more counters I can see Parker becoming more passive as he's reluctant to get countered. Usyk will feint him out of position and eventually start backing him up and that's when Parker due to his lack of counter punching is vulnerable and Usyk will then start pressing more and breaking Parker down. Parker will be tough enough to go the distance but he'll have taken a battering by the end of it.

 

Usyk beats him clearly.

If AJ can hit him, so can Parker....
