Make a list of fighters who actually are willing to die in the ring And also a list of fighters who quit when they face a bit of adversity
antonio margarito takashi miura orlando salido ruslan provdnikov triple g deontay wilder arturo gatti
Die in the ring Fury Wilder Canelo Beterbiev Sam Eggington Not willing to die Joshua Billy Joe Saunders Amir Khan Kell Brook
I was in two minds with this pick cos he could get gunshy when bullied...but **** it...Arthur Abraham....to fight through that jaw against Miranda you have to be a tough mother ****er Margarito....titaniumed chinned monster...I know he got knocked out eventually..but he shoulda gone down alot more with his face first defence. Marquez...you could weld him to the canvas and he'd still beat the count n go back to war
Fighters willing to die in that ring: The gypsy god Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder Fighters willing to quit in that ring: Juicua the bodybuilding fraud
If the referee gave him a full count and a little bit more I bet Wilder would have got up from his KO knockdown against Fury. I don't think he fully lost consciousness. He started to roll around and sit up on what would have been the 6th second of a count. Obviously with the punishment he was taking it's only correct to wave it off but still that man is tough as any.
I suppose the only two names I truly think of is Jake LoMatta and Arturo Gatti at certain points of their careers. There are some names above I really don’t think would.
I will mention a couple of aussie fighters from years back. I will use the fight or flight terminology. Fight : Jeff Harding, Tony Miller, Barry Michael. Flight : Tony Mundine Sr. Mundine Sr was before my time. I use to hear all the time from the old timers, how good he was but that he had a glass jaw. Anyway years later when I watched his fights on tape, he didn't have a glass jaw, he seemed to quit against Mahanga and Summerhays. He fought gamely against Monzon though. This is just my opinion of course, no offense meant to him or his fans.
I never understood that willing to die mentality. It’s fun to watch but why risk irreversible damage for entertainment?
