Can fury have any historical relevance being in such a weak era?

It's hard to tell how good Fury actually is.

He looked very impressive in the 2nd Wilder fight but I really don't rate Wilder at all.
Wilder's resume is absolutely dreadful. He's got a big right hand but has fought bum after bum his whole career.

Fury is certainly one of the best around in a bad era. But for me I think Usyk beats him even with the massive weight and height difference. And if Usyk does pull it off I think Fury's legacy will disappear as quickly as Joshua's

How can you call this a weak era? I've enjoyed a lot more heavyweight fights than when vitali and wladimir were beating everyone.

I think a motivated fury does very well in the 90s. I Don't know why Joshua is getting as much stick as well. He could have given up the wbo belt but decided to test himself against usyk.

Wilder is unknown but undoubtedly hits very hard. A few fringe contenders as well with Joyce, dubois, hrgovic and yoka all on there way to fight. I think it's in good shape

 

Also don't forget a lot of what went on in the 90s era. Bowe throwing a belt in the bin to avoid lennox Lewis. Tommy morrison

Tommy morrison was very unprofessional in his build up to fights. George forman won a belt at nearly 50 years old. You can **** on any era.

 

No way Joshua could have given up the belt. He would lose all credibility.

 

Fury is one of our best, ever. An awesome fighter with all the ingredients required to compete in any era of boxing.

This era is quite weak overall but Fury is without doubt far superior to anything in it , you can only beat what's there like Klitschko did for years on end.

I think what people don't get with current heavyweight boxing is the fact that they are giants of men , most now make Lewis look like a cruiserweight the current top 5 would stand a chance in any era due to that alone.

 

Plus a shitload of crack, cocaine, and booze. That era could have been even better had the drugs not ravaged a lot of fighters

 

This 100 times, Tyson raised the profile of the sport and in particular the division and with that came huge bucks and huge temptations. Lewis v McCall 2 is a fine example of how messed up things could get, a World Title fight and he's out of his mind.
