Spinks was incredible at 175.

Although I don't believe he is, despite being my favorite 175 pounder ever, he is in the conversation as the atg lightheavyweight.

Just think if Spinks had brought that power up to heavyweight.
Mind you, saying that, perhaps he did.
Holmes had a great chin and Cooney got hammered. And Tyson was just to fast, young and mean.

What’s interesting is that he’s commonly credited for his powerful right hand, which indeed it was. But his left hook was almost just as incredible and not often talked about . He was an excellent two fisted fighter.

 

I remember his right hand been talked about prior to Tyson, saying that he if he landed it at the right time..
But yes, the left isn't half as mentioned.

 

Marvin Johnson is #1 in my opinion because of the quality of the opponent and how Spinks took him out with one shot.

 

If Hagler moved up north to LHW and fought Spinks, I think Spinks may have cracked that concrete chin.

 

If he landed it flush at the right time, it may have buzzed Tyson some,but that's about it.

 

It is as brutal as when Bob Foster slew Mike Quarry.
