Yeah but that's it he hasn't fought any of the other top guys so to me he's an unkown quantity like Wilder.
I'm not sure whether the thread starter is a Fury or Wilder fanboy either way they need the other to prop up the resume.
Once you take the trilogy out which let's face it wasn't that competitive theres nothing there.

So with you saying that how do you feel about Vitali Klitschko’s reign? Because honestly there’s is no difference between the two with the exception being Fury is significantly better than anyone one on Vitali’s “championship reign”

Deontay would KTFO of AJ no doubt. Matchroom followers pushing Wilder hate propoanda always refer to his record but when push comes to shove and AJs looses get mentioned, they simply dodge this criticism. Wilder dominated Arreola several years ago while Ruiz, who beat AJ, got dropped by an even older Cristobal. Ruiz battared Joshua but almost got his arse a good hiding by Bygon Cristobal

Fury's wins aged well meanwhile AJs wins are the opposite. Examples besides the above paragraph being - Fury toyed with Klitschko, AJ went life and death, Parker won a controversial decision against old Chisora (who Fury already delt with easily several years ago) in fight 1 and failed to finish the more shopworn version in fight 2 meanwhile Wallin boxed Breazeales (former AJ opponent) fat face off

Although Vitalli's resume isn't great, its still much better than Wilders. I take his best wins of Sanders, Hide, Chisora, Briggs, Adamek, Peter and Johnson over Ortiz x 2, Duhaupas, Washington, Spzilka Stiverne and Arreola.

I think the main difference is that the division is deeper than in Vitali's era.
It's not necessarily better but there are more options so there isn't really an excuse not to have far more actual names on either resume.
Joshua at least has fought a more live bodies than Wilder or Fury.

    Still much better??

    Vitali Klitschko

    Corrie Sanders
    Danny Williams
    Samuel Peter
    Juan Carlos Gomez
    Chris Arreola
    Kevin Johnson
    Albert Sosnowski
    Shannon Briggs
    Odlanier Solis
    Tomasz Adamek
    Derek Chisora
    Manuel Charr

    Deontay Wilder

    Bermane Stiverne
    Eric Molina
    Johann Duhaupus
    Artur Szpilka
    Chris Arreola
    Gerald Washington
    Bermane Stiverne II
    Luis Ortiz
    Tyson Fury
    Dominic Breazeale
    Luis Ortiz II

Vitali’s best win is between Sanders and Peter, while Wilders is Ortiz. Gomez and Adamek were cruiserweights, Briggs and Sanders were 39. Ortiz was 39. I don’t see a difference at all tbh.
Both guys showed elite toughness is defeats to Lewis and Fury.

I loved Vitali as a fighter and I take nothing away from either guys accomplishment of defending a title 10 times. I just see inconsistencies in people when bashing Wilder while praising Vitali.

Absolute fraud, and I think that early on, more than just the Scott fight was fixed.

The difference is that Vitaly beat four titlists, Gomez and Adamek were also very good wins, as they were cruiser champs who pounded out good heavyweight records.

And we all know Ortiz was at least 50 years old.

4 titleholders. I only see Sanders and Peter. I will not count Briggs who retired for 3 years and knocked out all bums to get that fight at 39 years old. Let’s be real there isn’t a difference a lot of people just personally hate Deontay Wilder. I don’t care for him personally but he never had a boring fight and I loved Vitali but again I have to call it as it is.

    Briggs was a beltholder.
    Herbie Hide.

Wilder's resume is absolutely crap. Vitaly's rose to the level of mediocre.

    Indeed.

Vitali at least had a fairly even fight with Lewis - sure, Lewis was past his best but we're talking about an ATG heavyweight fighter.

Wilders best win was against an old and no longer PED'd to **** Ortiz whose best win was a gatekeeper... And then, for context, consider that Ortiz was by far the better fighter before the KO's in both fights (and Wilder needed a bit of ref help in #1).
Wilders best opponent (Fury) fought in #1 lacking condition and having fought nothing but bums for several years and still Deontay needed a crooked card for a draw... Then you have Fury in #3 looking like he'd spent most of camp in KFC and still comfortably beat Wilder.

Cmon this isn't close - VitKlit could've had a better resume but he was at least legit, Wilder has one of the poorest resumes for a long term titlest in boxing history if not THE worst.

You would literally have to go back to Tommy Burns to find a long-term heavyweight champ with a comparably bad resume.

Has there been anyone in the past 15 years who had a "good record"? Or could it be that HW boxing is usually awful?

What you have said is not at all untrue. Even Wladdy's record, while very good in the horizontal, had little going for it in the vertical.

Nobody cared about Hide's belt but Briggs was actually Lineal Champion, which is quite the feat.
