La Motta would beat the **** out of Canelo....especially in those deep water rounds of 12 thru 15

Canelo knocks him out. Fight won't happen because of the disparity in size.
Lamotta was at his best as the weight bully. In this case he would get bullied.

LaMotta fought plenty of full sized middles, super middles, and a few light heavies.
Canelo by close dec ,in a hard tough fight.Fifteen rounds gives Jake a bit more chance to outlast Canelo whose stamina has been questioned.

Then you realize natural 140 pound overrated Ray Robinson knocked him out. Jake was a horrible boxer, Had little skills or technique. He wasn't a big puncher and is only known today because of that horrible movie Raging Bull.

Canelo is a PED cheat but he would still destroy Jake LaMotta. Brutal knockout with in 5 rounds.

This may not be an accurate comparison but In my minds eye I see it looking like Toney vs Barkley.
Apparently LaMotta struggled to get to 160. Prior day weigh in might help in that area but Canelo appears bigger and is a much more refined fighter.
Again I am not at all an expert on LaMotta but I do feel his legendary toughness might just get him a longer beating.

Canelo is miles ahead of LaMotta in skills, offense, defence, peds, judges etc. On most metrics Jake is in deep crap. He's basically got only two trump cards here, the way I see it. His pressure and toughness. He's going to somehow have to walk through hell to get Canelo to those late rounds where ginger has sometimes run out of gas. Having got there he's still got to have enough left in the tank to turn up the heat himself. And having poured on the pressure he's going to have to basically knock Canelo out because he'd have lost the earlier rounds ... which is a hell of an ask considering that Alvarez has one of the hardest chins I've seen.

    Impossible?

    No.

    Highly improbable though.

    I'll take Canelo, sadly.

I wasn't aware that Robinson "knocked him out". Interesting.

Over 15 rounds, LaMotta stays strong and wins a split decision; his shots to the body wears Canelo down in the later rounds.

12 rounds or less, Canelo wins a UD. No knockdowns.

In a 15 round fight, LaMotta outlasts Canelo for a close UD. Not sure about 12 rounds.

I can see an exhausted Canelo ahead on cards getting pummeled by Jake in the last 3 rounds. Canelo won't like the pace LaMotta sets and Canelo ain't knocking out Jake LaMotta.
