I think one has to be very careful about judging from a single fight. Look at the 2 fights Usyk had in heavyweight before meeting Joshua. Here he did not look particularly good.
Well let's see what Whyte says to that as I'm not taking Arums word as gospel. In regard to usuyk. It’s estimated that AJ had a guaranteed purse worth £10m for putting his heavyweight belts on the line against Usyk. A further £5m from ppv upside. Usyk a guaranteed purse of £3m, with an additional £2m coming from the PPV money. So a 70/30 split. Yet team Fury expect us to believe Fury v whyte should be 80/20 when Whyte brings more money to the fight than usuyk was bringing to AJ.
Fury and arum don't want it to go to purse bids because they would most likely be outbid.no chance are they going 2 go on a dazn/hearn promotion.hearn and whyte won't mind it going to purse bids because 1.they will go big to land it 2.if they do fury will drop the belts rather than fight whyte. It's the threat of hearn/dazn winning purse bids that's the main issue imo.
Usyk is a global figure who has held an undisputed title. Whyte appeared on Masterchef in the UK last year.
Yes. The way he moved as he started to gel into that new style around the second Chisora and Hammer bouts, then the Klitschko bout, seems to be long gone. It looked like that in the 2018 Wilder bout. It looked like he was trying to replicate that sort of style, but that he couldn't. Maybe it was because he was rusty and was on a weight loss regime and had so many changes with his physical state. I think he will try to take Usyk out. He wouldn't come in out of shape like he did in the third Wilder bout. And did fairly well!
More reason to get a deal signed before going to purse bids. If not and they dont want to fight on a hearn show...drop the belt. Holding people up with this kind of stuff. Promoters need to realise they cant control everything. No sympathy for whyte how he treated wallin....but tbf people have got to be fair when facing a mandatory challenger. You can say we,re not making a deal and we,ll give up the belt. But to hold it up while still fighting someone else is a bit of a joke. You cant have it anyway you want. Maybe more to come out tho. Maybe eddie and whyte are playing games.
Whyte and Ruiz are at roughly the same level for me I can't really seperate them- neither are very good, neither should give Fury any real issues unless he seriously takes his eye off the ball. From a British boxing perspective and as far as entertainment value, I would definitely rather see Fury fight Whyte though. The build up and press conferences will be great fun and it will just be much more exciting of an event.
Was fairly slow and easy to hit against Wallin too though. Think that’s why he’s tried to reinvent himself with the Kronk style as he knows his footwork and movement isn’t what it was.
Who knows who's at it.wouldnt be surprised if hearn and whyte are playing to get it to purse bids it's a win-win for them if it does.
To be fair to the CV analyst @Mitch87 he was the first person i remember saying Furys legs were going.
To be fair to @Mitch87, he noticed that Fury's arms, legs, head, torso and brain were gone years ago.
