It seems as though Ennis is just as effective in the southpaw stance as he is in orthodox. Crawford has a tendency to be countered while in orthodox. In Shoutbox he is more defensive, but he isn't as powerful IMO. I think Ennis switch-hitting is in the same category as Hagle. Opinions?
Has the Op escaped from an insane asylum? Dear Boxing"IQ" No Ennis isn't as good as Hagler in any realm or dimension. Please log off. Thanks.
Ennis has looked quite good as a switch hitter but to compare him to Crawford, let alone Hagler. isn't realistic. The main reason for that is the level of competition. Hagler did it effectively against the best in the world. Crawford has used switching up to great effect against top fighters. Ennis has done well but really hasn't fought anyone who could make him pay for it. Time will tell how good he is but for now Ennis does not belong in the same conversation as those two.
Ennis is a true switch hitter. He switches through the whole fight. Crawford isn't really a switch hitter. He starts out in orthodox to see what his opponent is doing, then when he ready to turn it up or by 2nd or 3rd round, he goes south paw, which is his true stance. He's more vulnerable in orthodox. Once he goes south paw, he usually stay in that stance.
Ennis hasn't even been in a title fight. Boots deserves the Most Overrated Fighter of the Year award.
Chill, he's still just a prospect. He hasn't been in a title fight coz he hasn't earned one yet, but it's clear he's extremely talented.
HIm and his father are talking about fighting Crawford, lol. As if they have any intention of fighting him next.
