Obviously a troll thread from a poster who like totally hasn't been permabanned a whole bunch of times But I'll humour you for a moment He has one of the best beards in the game and has fought more punchers and savage punchers than virtually any other current world champion I can think of and certainly within his last 10 fights where he's never even been hurt, let alone dropped, stopped or KO'd in any of them Gassiev AJ Majidov Breidis Chisora Nistor Beterviev Joyce Glowacki Bellew Huck Hunter Clemente Russo Levit Goulamirian Kunkabayev Leinier Perot And a ton more hard punching quality amateurs whose names you casuals would know nothing about How many world class punchers have his P4P peers like Terry Crawford and Spence fought, especially ones their own size? You haven't lost any fingers in an accident have you? No matter because you'll only need one hand for both
People forget how deadly Gassiev’s left hook is(for which he has only himself to blame). Usyk ate it flush and shook it off, just as he did against Joshua’s right hand. Usyk might have the best chin at HW, which is saying something considering he’s undersized at the weight.
No one who can take a flush shot from Gassiev right on the kisser can remotely be accused of packing glass. Usyk's chins is solid enough
No, but I looked into his boxrec page and he sits on 42% KO ratio so its obvious he is not a massive puncher
No, hes never been down amateur or pro, he was stopped on his feet by Korobov but getting buzzed will lead to stoppage in amateurs
You are either cunfusing him with somebody else or trolling. He was never knocked out in the amateurs, not even knocked down with the punch to the head
He wasn't even rocked in that fight. Back then fights were stopped when point difference reached 20 points. Scoring system was completely different to what it's now. That's what happened in his fight against Korobov - Matvey just outclassed him and when the points difference reached that number (20 points) the fight was stopped
Good to know, never seen this fight but man Korobov was something special back then. He dominated the amateur scene for a good few years.
Korobov is one of the greatest amateurs I've seen. He went on a five year unbeaten run winning gold at the World Amateur Championships in 2005 and 2007 and European gold in 2006. He won the Russian nationals in 2003 and 2004, beating the 2000 Olympic gold medalist Gaydarbek Gaydarbekov in them IIRC but the national squad selection committee decided to send Gaydarbekov to the 2004 Olympics instead. Gaydarbekov won silver losing by 2 points in the final. From 2004-2008 among many others he beat Usyk, Kovalev, Badou Jack twice, Danny Jacobs, Sergiy Derevyanchenko, Ismail Sillakh, Carlos Gongora, Bakhtiyar Artayev, Alfonso Blanco, Dmitrii and Fedor Chudinov, Emilio Correa, Yordanis Despaigne, Elshod Rasulov, Mohamed Hikal, Darren Sutherland, Jarrod Fletcher etc. The scary thing is he stopped most of them on the outscored rule: Jack, Derevyanchenko, Jacobs, Usyk, Gongora, Fedor Chudinov, Sillakh, Sutherland, Fletcher were all stopped on the outscored rule. Usyk was a skinny inexperienced 19 y/o at the time and as said he was stopped on the outscored rule This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
No evidence has yet emerged that Usyk's chin is suspect. Unless he gets badly wobbled or hits the canvas, I think that questioning his punch resistance is, at best, premature. This said, glass jaws DO exist in boxing, and LOTS of fighters have them.
