No way this guy is in his 20s as officially listed. Maybe he doesn't look as old as Luis Ortiz, but judging by his photos and videos, he looks more like mid 40s at least. And we know some Cuban's boxers age numbers are highly suspect. Everyone knows the story about Sam Peter sparring with prime Ibeabuchi (according to official stats Peter should've been 15-16 at that time. More likely he was in his 20s). Peter was accused of claiming wrong age. And Sam Peter looks younger than Frank Sanchez Faure. I think that Faure is most likely in his late 30s, but looks much older than that: https://latestnews.plus/wp-content/...-heavyweight-boxer-frank-sanchez-zpeE4cUv.jpg
I totally agree. But i think Ortiz is a bit older like in his mid 60s or so. Frank is probably in his mid 40s tho.
Are we going to start this nonsense again? He looks old, and he looks as old as this guy who is older, so he's probably older than the OLDER guy. Tyson Fury looks 50. Tyson Fury looks like he could be Tommy Fury's dad. Tyson Fury often looks older than his own dad, John. So what?
If Sanchez is over 40, how can he still have that superb agility? He is fast and he has very good movements. Very good for an old fella.
We have footage of Tyson growing up and Cuban athletes have a history of lying about their age. I like Ortiz and Sanchez, but I am curious about their real ages -- particularly Sanchez as I'd like to know much time he has left.
I've never understood the "he looks older to ME so he must be at least 15 years older than he claims" squad. They always seem to lead with "all Cubans lie about their age by a decade or more" ... like that's a given. I've heard of Cuban baseball players who lied about their ages (by two years) so they could play in the Little League World Series. But there aren't age restrictions for boxing. So I don't know where the train of thought that this boxer "must be 15 years older" garbage started.
A history of Cuban boxers lying about their ages? Name them? Which Cuban boxers have been shown to have lied about their ages which leads you to believe Frank Sanchez is in his 40s? Or are you talking about teenage baseball players trying to play in a youth league so they shave off two years? HUGE DIFFERENCE. HUGE. There isn't an age restriction in boxing.
I can't imagine it wouldn't be easier to sign lucrative deals as a 25 year old prospect versus as a 35 year old "prospect."
What "lucrative" deals? Name all these LUCRATIVE deals the lying 45-year-old Cubans claiming to be 25 signed? You've taken a couple 14-year-old baseball players who claimed to be 12 and decided that pro boxers are decades older than they are because they are from Cuba. It's beyond idiotic.
