If Foreman Had Faced Razor Ruddock, Instead Of Alex Stewart?

Foreman did not want a high risk fight-unless it was for the title.
It was not about size, but who he thought he could take in a boxing contest.
If it was for all the marbles, that would all go out the window.

I think George could take out Razor in 8th. Ego gets in the way, and Razor takes the bad end of it. But he gives George a decent go until he gets caught, and things change dramatically.

The guy who I would respect the most is whoever was physically able to get Foreman into the ring to face Ruddock. That would be the real fight, getting a 250 pound terrified man into a boxing ring. GF wouldn't have fought Ruddock for all of Elon Musk's money. Foreman was not avoided, he did the avoiding.

 

A foreman fight with Ruddock in 1992 would likely be a 50/50 affair by my reckoning. Ruddock wasn’t the same after the Tyson brawls and Foreman’s punching power was beginning to diminish as seen by the increasing number of people taking him the distance. Razor could still bang but often at the terrible cost of leaving himself open. Not an easy pick either way

 

Ruddock looked good against Phil Jackson—patient, even. Lennox Lewis just had an awesome right hand and Ruddock had a hole in his defense, but Lewis was the only guy at heavyweight with that kind of speed of range on the punch.

Foreman had very, very good managers in his come back.

 

Foreman knocks him down a lot early, then gets pumpkin faced on his way to a disputed UD decision win. The last two rds George is looking pretty bad as Ruddock astonishingly switches gears and uses his jab to great effect.

 

Ruddock's ego would get the better of him and he'd try and slug it out with Foreman, big mistake.

Foreman would bust him up and break him apart, a real career shortener.

 

My first time seeing Ruddick was Bonecrusher. Didn’t see any of his earlier fights. I remember reading in a magazine at the time that Ruddock was a good mover. I think this was a an article about who might give Tyson a decent fight. I never saw him move much. Was it something he did early in his career?

 

To give you an indication of Ruddock's boxing style in the 80s, look at the sparring session with Larry Holmes. It doesn't even look like the same one armed fighter constantly looking for the "The Smash" your see skilled boxer using the jab effectively.

George wasn't really up for Stewart. That was after Holyfield and just a stay busy fight. Had it been Ruddock I think Foreman trains better and is more focused. Like judging Ruddock from his life and death fight with old Greg Page. He was off his game a bit.
George would see Ruddock's obvious flaws and take advantage. I don't see Razor utilizing his jab and right hand, moving side to side. In theory yes Ruddock had ability but his Ring IQ lacking.
All Foreman has to do is look for the smash left uppercut. At 6-3 George won't a sitting duck for it. He could smother it and land his own more precise and more powerful shots with either hand.
In between the exchanges Foreman would be sticking his jab in Ruddock's face.

Bottom line is no matter what goes on by the end Razor Ruddcok would find a way to let George Foreman nail him.
