I highly doubt PBC will allow Ortiz to fight Hrgovic, they'll feed him to Ruiz most likely

Im pretty sure Ortiz called out Ruiz along with a few other heavyweights

Ruiz would be stupid not to take this fight. Not only is this a very winnable fight but he can spar with his stablemate Frank Sanchez and prepare him excellently for Ortiz's style

Im not certain but i think it happens. If not we need Ortiz vs Hrgovic or Ortiz vs Joyce

PBC should be angling Ruiz as an alternate if a deal can't be reached between Fury and Whyte.

Ruiz looked awful vs Arreola. Arreola is shot to ****. At least Martin is much fresher. Could have been an off night for Ruiz as he did prove his superiority as the rounds went on and became more sturdy, but still, kind of an inexcusable performance against a very worn fighter.

What's with all the Ortiz threads? Does he really have enough merit (based on...something) to deserve half the front page being composed of threads dedicated to him? He's just another nondescript perennial HW "contender", and there's plenty of them.

Martin put up a good showing against Ortiz before he was caught.

Ruiz Jr likely would not have been caught by that combo in the 6th that put Martin out of his senses.

And while Martin did land some good shots on Ortiz - he did nothing to drain Ortiz's gas tank. Ruiz Jr can bring plenty of pressure and he's an excellent counter-puncher. Andy didn't look great against Arreola, but absent hitting Arreola with something huge (like Stiverne did) or just pummeling him to jelly (like Vitali and Wilder did) - he isn't easy to stop.

I would pick Ruiz Jr to win because I just don't think Luis can stop Andy before he gasses.

    Martin was definitely fresher.

Andy didn't look good against Arreola. But he looked much worse against ex-contender Franklin Lawrence in 2016. Lawrence was a lot more shot than Arreola was - but Ruiz never looked like stopping him, either.

However bad he looked against Lawrence, it didn't prevent him from stopping Joshua a few years later, though, did it?

You can beat Ortiz by making him work hard in the first half of the fight. It's easier said than done to weather that storm - but Ortiz is an old man and he will tire if you can. Ruiz Jr brings lots of pressure and he can counterpunch - so he'd have a good chance against Ortiz.

For all of Arreola’s downsides as a fighter, he has KO power. Ruiz has a good jaw

Gotta agree there. Ruiz took AJs shots no problem.

In fairness Arreola has always been a very hard puncher and power is the last thing to go. Ruiz recovered quickly and won every round after.

Prime Ortiz schools both Hrg and Blubber boy. Now, still interesting fights. Ruiz looked like crap last time out and has short arms, Ortiz can still catch him from the outside and move, gotta work on those legs though and recover properly. Hrgovic's defense is lacking and has been caught by much lesser opposition, but he can turn it up and punish you from range, it would be a fun fight.

Ortiz is shot now. A prime Ortiz runs through Ruiz and AJ like a freight train. Thats why AJ and Ruiz ducked him

Ruiz eat a huge right hand after the KD against AJ, and i mean a huge one that will KO 99% of the HW division instantly.
Ruiz in AJ 1-2 has an insanely strong chin.
Ruiz version against Arreola was a terrible version of him. He was inactive for 18 months exactly. Also while he was posting some training footage and explaining how he is taking his career more seriously, that doesn't mean it's all true.
I have always said that playing with your weight sooner rather than later you will pay the price.
He was obviously not lose weight the right way, he was still carrying zero muscle - all fat. For a year and a half i will lose all the needless fat and will actually gain a proper functional mass and will look ripped, and i will do all that healthy and the right way.

He obviously didn't do it the right way, and on top of that sometimes you need to acclimatize to the new weight. Especially when you were so fat for so long.

Ruiz is a disgrace tho. The guy is given a great talent with an iron chin, and incredible fast hands, but he is lazy as*.
He had his moment, cause AJ given it to him. He is a yesterday news tho.
