Larry Holmes has harsh words about Trevor Berbick

That guy seems to interview some name fighters but the interviewer doesn't seem to know a lot about that period.

Larry looks like it's catching up with him. Good to see him, though.

 

Who does have nice things to say about Berbick?

 

Certainly not his nephew.

Larry doesn't sound too bad for 72 years old and 75 pro bouts under his belt. Love Larry. Great, great fighter.

he was good enough to take a prime Holmes the distance, ko John Tate, and even beat prime Page and Thomas (the latter for the title Pinklon won off of Terrible Tim). All respect, but I'd have to say that made him a more than legitimate contender in the 80s.

Berbick was a very good fighter, he just didn't have the skills or granite chin to keep him at the top level for long.

All that said, I never cared for him or his fighting style lol.

 

So they talked about Holmes hating Berbick and then even circled back to Berbick but never once discussed Holmes jumping off a car onto him? Come on, the people want to hear Holmes tell THAT story.

really enjoyed that. Ended up watching the whole interview. Larry seems content and happy in his own skin now, which wasnt always the case. Im happy for him. Seems a real nice fella

Thanks for the clip. I assume we all knew there’d still be no love lost between Holmes and Berbick.

I like Larry but Ali shouldn’t have fought Holmes either and I don’t believe Larry necessarily took it easy on Muhammad also.

Larry doesn’t seem punch effected but he has aged in appearance and manner - but I guess I haven’t seen him for a while.

 

I dunno, what if Big George finally agreed to come to the party……slow motion replays won’t be required.

 

I see your point...there are people who'd say the same about Iron Mike and Bowe.
