Nah he's an ATG. Nowhere near GOAT status. The best never needed to cherry pick and play the "a" side routine. They just fought who was put in front of them win or lose. Being unbeaten has become a badge that really means nothing it's something that only casuals believe in. Floyd retired to avoid the young lion's to take a loss of each other. He never wanted that smoke from Marg or Williams both of which would have given him a stylistic nightmare.
He said Canelo was 21 and was two years out. You said Floyd was 'close to 40 years old'. He was 36...
I would say most fighters have been the recipient of questionable wins. Floyd did give rematches in those close fights though. Floyd is kind of a small welterweight anyway so you could never really make an even fight between those two.
Stylistic nightmare, really? Marg was just a face first brawler with little ring smarts , Floyd would jab and pivot around him all night long, nothing fancy to see there it would be like Corrales fight just goes the distance. Williams was built in the same mold too and got schooled by Lara but I'd give him a serious chance given the size differential between him and Floyd .
I'm not saying they beat Floyd I'm merely cause problems that Floyd would be less confortable. Ask yourself why he avoided taller fighters. was it to negate the reach advantage he had over the vast majoroty of his opponents? It's well documented that Floyd filled his pants when he saw Marg. Again I'm not saying he beats Floyd but it's funny how the Floyd fans dismiss him as just a plodder. He might be a plodder but he hit hard was relentless and had an excellent gas tank. Even Madaina gave Floyd a nights work on there first encounter so I don't see it being a huge leap to assume that Marg could do a little better. Also Lara lost a MD to Williams so not sure that was a schooling..
Both were not at their peaks. When they made the fight, it was the best time to see these 2 fighters from different generations clash.
Canelo’s style would always have been tailor made for Floyd. To me the way to beat Floyd was a Calzaghe or prime Roy style. Speed, unorthodox punches from all angles, and an extremely high punch output. Floyd was to smart for a Canelo who he could figure out and adapt to.
Shadow will tell you it was a prime Floyd and that it was his toughest fight ever He also was taught how to fight on the ropes that night..... Damn Floyd make him look bad that night and i don't even care for Floyd at all
Sugar Sweet Hands Logan Paul been dropping some truth bombs on Floyd Apparently Floyd still hasn't paid him the money he owes him This content is protected
I had this conversation with Olu who was telling me he's a master business man worth over a $1 billion. Despite the fact he's a huge gambler and spunks money on garish diamond studded watches costing $18 million. If you spend money like that you will be bankrupt sooner rather than later. Logan tapped that ass.
