I just think Lewis plain didn't trust Bowe and stayed on edge in case. Can't say i blame him personally.

I always found Lennox difficult to read. When he was an active fighter, he seemed aloof and somewhat cold, as you say. I assumed he just had his game face on.
I watched him a while back on the Joe Rogan podcast, and he seemed a lot more down to earth and approachable there. Also, in several interviews since. He seemed to be more chilled. But then sometimes he still seems aloof and disengaged.
    Difficult dude to figure out.

Totally agree. In the You Tube comments re the clip, there are a lot of people banging on Lewis for not being more gracious and accepting.

However, it’s been clearly Bowe who has perpetuated this so called feud - there’s at least one other prior event in which Bowe was trying to get at Lennox physically.

On this occasion, Lewis clearly stood up warily and distanced himself given Bowe’s history for erratic statements and behaviour. Lewis was like, okay, you’ve ended your own feud, that’s just great, see ya later. It was also the surprise factor as already said and Lewis had little time to process.

Stay tuned….Riddick may well be bagging Lewis again - this time for not properly accepting his olive branch - which might’ve been a passive aggressive orchestration in the first place anyway -

I tend to think that was just Lewis’ game face and he was possibly more guarded than the average fighter as to letting people know what was really going on inside his nogg’n’ - such types tend to default to appearing aloof but are really not so pretentious behind the facade.

I found him aloof at times, but generally Lennox just seems like he smokes a heck of a lot of weed.

He did nothing wrong with Bowe. He was clearly wary of Bowe's intentions. Bowe's been an idiot in the past. And Lewis isn't some fool to get sucker punched.

Constantly referring to himself in the third person, from day one, was off-putting at the time.

Bowe has a very likable side to his personality. He would have been good for boxing as heavyweight champion. Probably a cross-over star if he had maintained his mental faculties.

How could he ? For thirty years Bowe not only talked trash about him but made nearly every public encounter straight through the very recent under pinned with a threat of violence. Lewis always kept a clear head despite being in far better shape. Now out of nowhere Bowe changes his mind and walks up to him unannounced, how’s he to act? The one at fault for all of this on every level is Bowe, the same guy that sucker punched Larry Donald, beat up his own wife and had many other acts of flat out poor behavior despite his goofy, happy go lucky routine. No doubt that Lewis can be arrogant and distant in public but between the two he has always been the class act.

Fair post mate and exactly why Lewis didn't let his guard down and stayed on edge. Who would know what is going on in Bowe's brain nowadays.

Yeah, Bowe always was a loose cannon and even now it wouldn’t have surprised me if Bowe suddenly took a wild swing at Lewis. Lewis was probably thinking the same.

What does surprise me is that Lewis and Tyson seem to get on fairly well these days. They were introduced into the ring before a heavyweight title fight a couple of years ago along with Holyfield and I was surprised that they hugged and were joking with each other especially considering how much they seem to hate each other in the buildup to their fight in the early 2000s.
