Would much prefer this to the cruiser fight. Canelo has to be a sizeable favorite, but If Charlo utterly rejects that in his own head and comes prepared to go to war intending to win by protracted beatdown and stoppage, he could make it interesting. He could win. Imo it needs a fast, agile, strong, durable and talented athlete to beat Canelo. One that can fight full tilt boogie every minute of every round and make Canelo do the same. Be unpredictable. Make the Champ uncomfortable. Seize the initiative and keep it. Jermall Charlo has to fight like the lion he claims to be. I have been alternatively hot and cold on the Charlo brand, but this will be his chance to win everything he ever opened his mouth up about and I think he has the raw ability. With the proper mindset, Jermall would be the most dangerous opponent Canelo has faced by far since Golovkin imo. If he tries to come in with some tricky slick gameplan where he's not gonna take shots, he's gonna' get cornered, embarrassed beat down and stopped and then we'll be have to endure a **** ton of delusional whining and 47 butthurt threads per page for months and months.
Canelo can't safely make 160lbs anymore and retain the strength he has developed since December 2018.......
We need more fights. Does anyone notice when there are fewer significant fights, the **** talking escalates? I’m cool with Canelo fighting Ny of the names mentioned. This one is more legit than the cruiser nonsense they had been proposed. Just stay at a weight for more than one fight and face the best opposition. I’m officially not going to even read any of the what if posts or speculative discussions. Canelo is a great fighter, I hope he starts conducting himself as a champion. No more cherry pick jumps, just fight and beat the best guys at a weight class. If he does this, his legacy is cemented. He’s already made a **** ton of money. I think if he stops the circus fights and gimmicks, he will become even bigger and get the respect he has earned. Otherwise, I don’t want to hear about it.
