Unlikely, I'm not super high on Carpentier.

No,his resume is very underwhelming .He may have been the benificiary of a rigged fight when he won the title and when he lost it Siki was supposed to be," in the bag".
    Overated fighter imo.

I think he would have been a lot better without WWI. But that’s getting so hypothetical.

I think it much more likely that he would have ended up as one of the many title claimants, in the grey zone between Foster and Spinks.

Possible. Was a good boxer and hit very hard. The terror of the British Heavy weight division.

Those were shark infested waters. He might have beaten someone like Mike Rossman If he got a shot at him but not sure id favor him against anyone else

Haven't seen enough of him. I remember reading he was very highly rated in his time. He got whupped by Dempsey but then I'd have expected him to. Here he looks pretty fast with a good punch and not afraid to mix it up. I like how he uses his mobility to pick the right time to strike and then ties Dempsey up. I don't know if his constitution was up to that standard though

Edit: that was actually a pretty good fight, after watching the whole thing. Carpentier has a little of the RJJ about him. Ya know what, I think he's do ok. I think he might well pick a strap up.

I could see him slipping through the cracks somewhere there.

He would have more of a chance as a MW. At 172 it would be easy to make that with rehydration.

Maybe when Mike Rossman had a belt. He might win that one. But, in general, undisputed, no.

Too stacked. Couldnt think of a worse time for him. Great period for light heavies
