And only three of the top 50.

What's wrong with the promoters? Sure there has been one fight cancelled by Covid restrictions, but that doesn't excuse all the inactivity.

Boxers decline when they don't fight for a long time. Having a fight scheduled in a few months times probably motivates them to stay in shape.

It's evidence of what a weak era in heavyweight boxing this is.

The worst of it is, heavyweights who are very good have to wait until they are ruined by inactivity and weak opposition, because the established contenders are over-protected. The best example of this is Hrgovic.

Makhmudov have a fight next week. He should be top 28 for sure, as well as Hrgovic

How would you know? they don't fight and when they do it's against factory workers, bartenders, and uber drivers.

Ofc, cos pro boxing is entertainment and amusement business to earn money from tickets sales, ads in arenas, halls, endorsement deals, ad deals, money from mass media and broadcasting companies.

The biggest problem is, that while being the same career job as any office job, it is young man's game.

45 years old doctor, lawyer, artisan, engineer or chief cook, boxing coach or massage therapist, nutritionist, real estate agent, high levle manager, trader, pharmacist, scientist usually might earn more than their 30 years old peers.

Boxer? When you are 30, already no one serious investor believes promoter's talks that he is in his prime.
40? It is last period and only if you are very lucky, blessed by God to be able to fight.
Ofc you even when 60 will be better than average 20-40 y.o old joe on the street.
To earn money with fighting is different talk here.

I'm scared cos lads are getting older and older, wasting their TIME.
Training? Hard, diligent training on daily basis just to keep up some shape takes more resources than laborer's job. Each day.
Not alone training camps or God help pre training camps.

Ppl love to **** on ammies in internet comments, there at least if you are in tournament, they should fight vs you or walk home.

In pro boxing a lot of lads were very happy if they had even just 2 pro fights during 1 year.
With covid? God, better not to talk.

They are stronger and bigger than ever, do you really think that Max Schmeling would beat AJ , Fury, Makmudov , Wilder, Joyce, or Usyk ??

I think you're being way over dramatic.

In the last four weeks, Parker, Ortiz, Martin, Sanchez, Hunter, Chisora, Demirezen, all fought ... Yoka and Bakole were scheduled to fight in five days but it was postponed due to Covid ... and Fury-Whyte and Usyk-Joshua II are literally being negotiated right now.

That's half the Boxrec top 28 either just fought or are deep in negotiations (or just had a fight cancelled that was scheduled to take place in five days).

It's interesting you mentioned Hrgovic as the BEST example, since he isn't in the boxrec top 28.

AJ? is that the same Joshua who got ko'ed by the Mexican butterbean? Wilder? is that the same Wilder who thinks footwork is putting his shoes on or are you talking about Gene Wilder? Watch the Fury Wilder 3 fight, concentrate on the footwork , defense and punching techniques . It's atrocious how amateurish they look at times.

Bigger and stronger? like Primo Carnera?

Ortiz and Martin was a , " who's more shot fight" and the answer was both. Parker and Chisora was about as meaningless as it gets. Hunter is a gatekeeper who ain't fighting anyone. Sanchez is a nice boxer but unproven and unless it was in a back alley when did Whyte fight in the last 4 weeks?

He said the Boxrec Top 28. Everyone I mentioned is in the Boxrec Top 28. Half either just fought in the last few weeks or are in negotiations to fight or just had a fight scheduled in five days called off due to the pandemic.

Whether you think they belong in the Boxrec Top 28 isn't the topic.

Ibf seems to be trying to find hegovic a dance partner that’s important. He needs to fight and line up for a belt should he win. Division needs talent to get into the mix.
Hopefully Fury Whyte gets sorted out. And Joshua vs Usyk 2.
Then let Ruiz, Parker fight in sequel that will line up another contender. Then let Wilder fight Dustin Nichols again and he can rated number 1 and fight for a belt
