This fight is gonna take place next weekend and there doesn't seem to be much talk for this fight at all. To me this is the first great match up of this year. Not only because we finally get to see Gary Russell Jr back in action but also we can see just how much Russell has left and if Magsayo is the guy to end his title reign. This is definitely a speed vs power match up that's guaranteed some fireworks. Hoping to see a good scrap and may the best man win.
It will take a well placed bomb from Magsayo to win this. He has shown that he can do that in the past, and I will be rooting for him to do it, but I can't see him getting a W out of this on points.
I'm looking forward to this fight. There's pre-fight drama on Gary's side. His dad had his foot amputated due to Type 2 Diabetes, so he's basically training himself. Magsayo is kinda basic, but I feel like it's going to be his night. A KD and close decision win for MM.
Maybe GRJ will finally get serious and start fighting more than once a year or so. He’s a talented guy who beat Jojo more convincingly than Haney did.
To be honest I should have worded it better. He's had notable fights after the Loma loss such as Gonzalez, Diaz, and Kiko Martinez who just beat Galahad. What I meant to say is he's fighting someone who could possibly upset him.
I am looking forward to it. To be honest, I liked Russell but his inactivity over the last seven years has turned me off of him. Here's to hoping Magsayo wins and we get a more active champion.
Always interested in watching Russell fight if I'm honest, even though he doesn't seem interested in fighting. I like Magsayo , exciting and powerful but I can't see him beating Russell, the gulf in skill level is still too wide.
This is exactly the kind of guy that's tough after a long layoff. Not sure what GRJ's handlers were thinking.
Ill be rooting for magsayo for the sole reason russel is bad for boxing. Holding a title and being that inactive is never a good thing
