I wouldn't because no swarming cruiserweight will be able to lay a hand on a beast like Lewis, who has one of the best jabs in boxing, paired with his monstrous uppercut in the clinch. He is all wrong for Dempsey.

Finally someone who understands my point. They're both still are H2H beasts even though they're quite overrated.

He lost total of three times in his career, two of these were when he had brain damage.

Some people said the same about AJā€¦and a cruiser weight easily beat him. The most over rated opponent is anyone weighing over 230 because apparently that makes one invincible

I should clarify I pick Lewis over Dempsey in thag situation but a roided up cruiser of similar dimensions did knock out Lewis.

He is certainly over rated if your assessment is anywhere near the mark.

However it is much more likely that you are wrong, and the rest of the world is right.

So hard to know since we're talking fantasy match-ups here.

Ali gets a lot of love in these fantasy match-ups and it might just be a bit too much, but hard to say. What can be said, though, is that he did well against fighters that would be top contenders decades later and that he beat everyone he faced until completely shot.

I would agree that I find it hard seeing what what we know and have seen of Dempsey to figure he would very well against the best of later times. I personally find that optimistic, but have no way to prove that it is.

Tyson is overrated in such that he gets unique allowances. For him to get the h2h status that some give you have to aggressively ignore how he actually did in several significant fights. So I think it's fair to say that he gets the most benefit of a doubt in h2h fantasy. I mean he even does well against Holy in the fantasy h2h, despite - as the younger less battle worn fighter - coming out way short in reality h2h. That's fairly unique.

Pretty much any "ATG" heavyweight. Boxing fans talk about them like they were immortal superheroes.

    Usyk is no ordinary cruiserweight.

Do you think Dempsey or Louis or Marciano or Charles or Holyfield or Patterson or Spinks were? Obviously anyone who would want to contend at the highest levels would have to be special

Dempsey, Louis, Marciano are not in Usyk's league. Holyfield is the only relevant example, but he was special.

The rest (bar Spinks) will have a terrible time.
